Having the right camera settings can make a difference not only to how you view F1 2021, but how you drive in F1 2021.
In this F1 2021 camera settings tutorial I'll show you my settings, provide some advice on what to change, and we'll also look at the all-new Nose Camera as well as the kinds of settings F1 Esports pros like to use.
The Camera Settings menu for F1 2021 is a little different to F1 2020, as the values go from +20 to -20, instead of +100 to -100. The theory is the same however, and if you found the best camera settings for F1 2020 you should be able to translate them easily.

I wanted to add something new instead of "copy what I did last year", and after looking at a few other creators' settings this was the best match I could do.

OMG mate this video,, I always go on cockpit because I love f1 and though its hard I stick to cockpit view, your settings mate it just gave me a extra level of confidence and I lapping at least a second faster in all my races, all credits to you man , wow just thank yoy so much 😀

Just done a few hot laps in Monza with my usual camera vs changing angles and field of view. Using the same car and setup…. I am 0.3 sec faster with the different camera angle. Thank you for your video 👏🙌

Hey PJ thx for this great video but correct me if im wrong , i think esports style has low fov like "- 10" depends how much u re far from the screen and high offset vertical like between "15 and 20".

Is there a way to change a setting in cockpit came that the player in the car moves his head in the direction in which you steer? instead of always looking forward even if u take corners?

Always great videos. I trying centering the offset pod view tonight. Works great. The only thing I have noticed is if you ‘look backwards’ it is based off the off-centered view and not your new camera position. Hope this is something that can get fixed in an update. Same is 2020 game.
I think it won’t change. We’re basically tricking the camera into doing something it wasn’t meant to do, whereas the rear camera isn’t customised.
PJ, you're great man) all the stuff is very helpful) Btw, I know many players (and myself to be honest) are struggling with brightness in F1. For me your settings seems good, but i still can't reproduce it. Would be awesome to know it in details.))

My brightness is on default, and I don't play in HDR as my capture card passthrough doesn't support it.

I just wish the chase camera was as good as it was in the early 2010s.
Is it possible to use the ‘2010 style’ using the normal tv pod instead of the offset version?
Not really. The main reason for Offset is that you need to pull the camera way back, further than standard can get you.
Why i cannot use team radio?
PJ … Just can’t seem to move the speedo up in the OSD settings on Xbox X. Any chance of a step by step guide.
Assuming you can open the menu, it should be fairly straightforward. Bear in mind you need to press A to confirm the changes, pressing B will cancel them.
I like the new nose cam
It's kinda similar to another racing game in pc I play
It's rather nice. The FOV feels a tiny bit tight, but I like the position. If you have a wheel it really looks down the nose rather well.

Can you? I need to re-check but I'm fairly sure the Nose Cam is currently uneditable. If it can be changed, that might be my new default view!

Look up Josh Idowu; he's a McLaren esports driver and had a video on the settings.
I essentially tried to mirror his ones when making the alternate version, he deserves a view 🙂

cockpit is the most realistic by far. feels like being in the shoes of an IRL driver more than any other
Im trying to turn off the halo but i dont know how i searched it while being in the main menu but it wasnt there and when i was standing in the garage in my car i couldnt change the settings how can i do that?

@@PJTierney yeah I'm still trying to figure out what to do. I like cockpit it gives a different perspective and looks realistic but I play on 90AI I noticed that when I play off set I am quicker so I'll give it a go. You deserve more subs for sure man keep up the good work
I found the perfect camera settings. But everytime I race with another car the camera needs to be adjusted. Very irritating. Either it is too far back or too far forward that half the mirror gets blocked. What setting should me changed first? The Horisontal offset or field of view? Car specific is disabled and it is set to global
Turn on car-specific and then change the Horizontal Offset.
What would be the settings for esports style on offset? Also, is esports style an official rule, like all drivers need to have that view?
It's not a rule, I gather they like that view because of the narrower FOV making it easier to gauge the speed of each corner.
If you want the same view but on the Offset camera, look up Jarno Opmeer's video on it 😀

The alt nose camera is great, but one frustrating thing is that you can't turn the HUD off while using it (DRS/overtake notification disappears which I think you need)
You can't disable it at all? Should be able to in the OSD settings.

For some reason I just don’t have the OSD customization option , I’ve tried it in time trial , gp , from the menu , and even my team practice sessions but I never get the option . Really frustrating , amazing video though thank you 👍
You need to be on the track for it to appear, not in garage/menus.

Cockpit camera is great, but I'm not a fan of it with my big screen.
If I could customise the new nose cam that would be the best one for me. Just a little more FOV and less camera shake.
What was the mclaren settings at the end?
All my high angle T-Cam settings are the same. You may need to tweak the Horizontal offset if the airbox clips, but for the most part it's all the same.
I'm so confused!! Is offset horizontal supposed to be at 20 or -20? There's an article about the esports style and all the numbers are the exact same, but for offset horizontal the article says -20.
If it's the "article" I'm thinking of, they took the numbers from this video 😏
+20 moves it forward, -20 moves it backward. Esports view likes the camera a little more forward though I recommend looking up Jarno Opmeer's settings just to check.

They should auto-save once you're out of the pause menu 🤔

I use the same cockpit view settings as described. But when I go into career mode, it doesn't look the same. The settings are all the same but it's totally different. Do I miss something?
May be slightly different depending on what car you're in, so feel free to tweak accordingly.

Where can you buy a steering wheel/pedal setup?
Fanatec, Thrustmaster and Logitech all have official websites.
I recommend looking up reviews and comparisons first before you buy, and start cheap. Logitech G29 is a good starter wheel.

I would imagine the more of the car you see, the more framerate demands there are.
Worst-case, drop some graphics settings; crowds, reflections and ground cover are usually the big FPS killers in a racing game.

@@user-mp8nj9rc8u ps4 lol you won’t be seeing much improvement on the previous gen consoles unfortunately since they can’t run higher settings and fps no patch will fix that it’s just a console restriction
@JustinP1606 on the new consoles and pc 60fps but he said ps4 which is capped at 30fps
@JustinP1606 it doesn’t matter what kind of monitor you have if your hardware (console/pc) can’t output the 60fps 4k then your just waisting your money on high end monitors for nothing
Hey, does anyone know why when I brake the camera automatically changes to another camera- it’s so goddamn annoying and frustrating and puts me off so much. I want it to just stay on tv pod.
Maybe you accidentally change your settings, check if you have the same button or pedal for braking and camera change
You've double-binded your buttons.
You probably have a the brake and change camera buttons mapped to the same thing.

@@PJTierney hey mate thanks for your vlogs, this one and last years too. Do you know if the OSD customisations is for consoles too? Can’t seem to change the OSD option on my XBOX. Now wondering if I’m just missing something or if you can only customise if on PC. Cheers in advance.
@@chrisroe2212 It's all on console too. You need to be paused on-track to change it.

@@PJTierney thanks for answering mate. Cam see the OSD option, but it’s greyed out, can’t select it. Strange. Could move it about on console in 2020. Not sure of this is a bug or just no longer supported for console.
