- “Time is On My Side” performed live by The Rolling Stones with the Soul Queen of New Orleans, Irma Thomas, at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (aka Jazz Fest) on May 2nd, 2024
60 years after the Rolling Stones adapted Irma Thomas’ arrangement of “Time Is On My Side” as their first Top 10 American hit, they sang it with her for the first time.
Amazing that time was on our side to see this actually happen.
Brought tears to my eyes...Stones recorded it based on her version 60 years ago and to think they are singing in together in 2024 is unbelievable and so awesome!!!
This is epic. A wonderful pairing with Irma Thomas. This gets me right in my heart.
I was hoping they'd bring this one back to the stage. Performing it with Irma Thomas is fantastic. The Stones are great.

It was her song. White people always appreciated black people's songs.
I feel like the Stones have always payed respect to the fact that their major musical influences were black. I hope that the people who directly inspired them feel respected and properly acknowledged for their contributions

The Rolling Stones' love for black music is second to none. Therefore, in the opinion of some people, it seems strange that the Rolling Stones will not be able to sing brown sugar in concert.
What a great moment for Irma and really ALL the musicians from New Orleans area!
