I would like to correct a statement I made during this interview regarding transfer of memory. I said it was in nematodes but it was actually in snails. The transfer medium from the trained snail was specific RNA, which modified the neural network of the recipient snail and transferred the memory regarding training.

We can drown in the transfer of information as well. Suffocate. For decades now I've been trying to understand with my (thankfully) limited academic knowledge why some of us offspring are "black sheep" according to the family tree. It's becoming clear that lineages go off into this limited and absolute idea of what life is or may be. Someone has to bust out, as brutal as it is. Someone has to observe objectively and poke a hole in the vacuum seal. These kinds of discussions have helped me to see the value of embracing my black-sheepiness instead of taking it as a defect. It's a blessing. Else I wouldn't still be breathing and experiencing what today has to offer. Can we start a movement? "Embrace your black-sheepiness"? It saved my ass.

Humans have got a self-conscious experience and now they put it at the centre and the basis of the existence. It was once believed that Earth was at the center of what was thought to be the entire universe, and everything revolved around us. It followed by the Sun being at the center of the universe and anthropocentrism. Doesn’t the history give you a clue that the awareness or consciousness-centred world you promote is also wrong?
