Welcome back to another Life At Sea episode. In this vlog, I will be showing you how our Maersk ship was refueled by 3 different grades of marine fuel oil.
First we will dive down into our transit all the way to Rotterdam in Netherlands. It will be including our passage plan , reportings , arrival/departure etc.
The port rotation was very hectic hence I managed to capture the bunkering operations in a very brief manner. Cargo ships are still operating on marine fuel oil which are tested & certified for reducing the air pollution. ( Specifically Nox & Sox emissions )
For a marine chief engineers it is a very critical operation as the fuel figures shall match exactly as per the plan. The rest of the engineers assist thr chief while the deck team helps in mooring & unmooring the fuel oil barges.
Fire equipments & Oil pollution prevention equipments are kept standby incase there is an emergency.
This video will be beneficial to alot of aspiring Merchant Navy & Marine Engineering Cadets .

@@KaranvirSinghNayyar It costs me about 100 grand to fill my car up now here in England ! Just over £1.9 PER LITRE that's £8.6 PER GALLON ( 10 US dollars/ also 10 Euros per gallon)

When I worked at Port Everglades watching the fuel tankers pull in to off load was watching magic. They were on such a time constraint and did the job efficiently

Excellent bunkering coverage and time lapse from Rotterdam. Beautiful indeed. One clarification, saw Ayush 4th Engineer in ECR while bunkering operations though he was signed off n departed in the last video/last port. Am I right to assume that this video was recorded /created from many clippings taken from the past and kept for a timely release ??. Hope you are archiving all these Vlogs so that you can create a documentary in the future.

To be very honest,
When I see your video, I realised that I was in part where I wish to be.
It's my desire to be Captain of the ship or atleast to be C/E in merchant Navy.
Due to financial issues, I became chemical engineer but not lossing hope & tried STCW 95 but still not getting Rig job so I finally decided to trade petroleum and Petrochemical trading Commodity and since year, I am Regulerly in touch of my desire dreams.
