    Gonna try this in a few minutes. I would call someone out, but I get tired of the hillbillies they send to my house. Thanks!

    I have the exact same setup and was trying through the hose bib with no luck. Then I tried taking the gauge off and filling up and bam! Worked like a charm. Thank you for saving me a service call bro 👍👍👍

    Oh my God thank you so much for getting straight to the point. I Love CZcams because I can watch videos on how to do stuff and do it myself, but I have to go through so many videos of all the people that want to talk about their self, ramble, looking for attention and just beat around the damn bush. All I need them to do is get to the point. Lol thank you for getting to the point.

      @@carlmarcus01 I have not implemented this solution yet. I'm waiting on my husband to do it with me so we both know how. We're (elder) milliennials trying our best. Lol There was no water after turning it back on initially after fixing our broken pipe. Still hoping to fix it tonight. I'm sure this will work. Lack of pressure/prime is my issue.

    I have to unscrew the bolt upfront to release air before priming. It shouldn't take much more than 1 gallon of water. Bolt back on before turning on power.

    You should have caught the water that came out, all of it to take a close look at it as well as you could have put it aside in the same bottles and used it next time.. Your pump house need to vent buddy so it can stay dry it will be a lot nicer dryer and all the equipment will last longer if it's not in that damp mess.. ya know ! Just put a vent or two so it can breath and air out...

    • @snaggletooth1773
      @snaggletooth1773  Před rokem

      It has vents as well as an exhaust fan. This was filmed after ten or so days in the heat with no power and no water following hurricane Laura. There are many ways it could be done better but I had no idea what I was doing and I just wanted a shower.
      It worked and continued to work until hurricane Delta not long after where we lost the house and the well has sat unused since. Would love to get it pumping again one of these days though.

      I hear ya.. Good deal. I live in SC on a river, I've been flooded out 7 times in the past 24 years... I get it.. Dry is where it's at. Wet damp sucks Thanks for the upload.. I have an old pump I intend to start using.. Have a great summer.. yall stay dry to.

    if you keep track of exactly how many full bottles of water it took to fill the source line, and then measure the source pipe diameter, you can calculate the volume and find out approximately how deep your weel is ;)
    also, if you ever update/upgrade that system with new parts, installing a check valve should keep that problem from happening as often when you lose power (most of the time).

    • @snaggletooth1773
      @snaggletooth1773  Před 11 měsíci

      Years ago before he passed away I was able to talk to the man that drilled it and memories are fuzzy but I believe he said it was somewhere around 300ft.
      When the video was filmed power had been off for about ten days, any other time we never had trouble keeping prime.
      It’s been sitting unused since we lost the house after the next hurricane in 2020.
      I’ve been wanting to go out and attempt to get it going again but haven’t gotten around to it. If I do get it pumping again I will definitely look into a check valve.

      @snaggletooth1773  Před 3 lety +2

      I shut off the line to the house and let the tank fill before I opened it again. I don’t think that was necessary though, just seemed like a good idea.
