Noticed at 3:50 that one of your o-rings for the bubble counter isn't in place and is still in the shipping location inside the bubble tube. Also, just a suggestion; lube all threads and o-rings lightly with silicone grease. this will greatly prolong the life of the o-rings and make all of the fittings much easier to put in place.
Is this cylinder made of industrial co2 or homemade co2 (sodium bicarbonate + citric acid)?
Your check valve should be high in the system and not low (although this could have been just for the vid) to avoid seepage through the although minimal weight of water in the piping if any type of backflow occurs, as check valve springs are not that strong and will only weaken with the passage of time. Best practice is to also add a loop above the water line in the pipe as an extra precaution against backflow.
Hi is it using w21.8 pin?
Are you able to either remove or turn the bubble counter 90º on its side? Because I'd like to use a SodaStream cylinder but if I do that it means that the bubble counter would be on its side meaning it wouldn't work.
you can turn it on its side but have a separate bubble counter along the line and not directly on the regulator
How about co2 powder?
Great video. Can homemade co2 be added to the fire extinguisher? Baking soda + citric acid? Or baking soda, yeast + water?
Thanks
I wouldn't suggest opening the Co2 Fire extinguisher. It can be very very dangerous as it contains a very pressurized gas.
Wow!!! Amazing bro!!! Thanks for sharing! Oh! by the way, do co2 tank is safe? I mean can he explode? I'm new to this hobby and I want to try co2 on plants. Thank you bro. More power to you. Stay safe everyone.
it should be safe of course under due diligence and proper handling. Avoid placing it in areas that would cause it to fall or in high temperature place like in front of a heater or warmer. Don't use tanks that aren't meant for CO2 for example Oxygen tanks.
When removing the gauge/regulator make sure the main valve is closed and you've gassed it out.
If you'll just leave it inside a cabinet or somewhere hidden and safe there should be no problems.
For livestock/fishes, once you see them gasping for air, you should lower down the BPS
Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask, we are all beginners at one point
@@AquaristForFun Thank you so sooo much bro!!! Really appreciate the effort. Stay safe and God bless!
I recently purchased this exact regulator, however the solenoid valve keeps on acting up. When i plug in the power plug, half the time the solenoid switches on and let’s the co2 through, however the other half of the time it just doesn’t turn on. Same goes with the solenoid switching off and stopping the co2. The regulator set has only been used for 4 days so it should not be doing this. Any suggestions?
Does yours have a dc input cable or is the cable like built in together with regulator? I had both types, turns out the DC cable was acting up so I just replaced it
@@AquaristForFun The cable is attached to the regulator. So no way to replace the cable as far as i know.
how long did you use this setup?I heard from othe people they have problems like regulator damage due to the FE releasing liquid co2 into the regulator.I recently bought one for my new setup but haven't started yet.now I'm scared to start because of this issue that might cost me more.
no issues so far. been using the same unit for years and i have no problems with it. actually after this video I even bought 2 more for my other 2 aquascapes. Could be a case of user error, either they didn't use the O-rings properly or just forgot to put them on in the first place
Bro,is your check valve that you are using came from your DIY CO2? I had a very hard time of this diy.its very stressful. It's very inconsistent just like my wife.lol
Yup, I think it came from the set I had with the DIY CO2 Generator.
Well You'd better switch to something better, I'm talking about the CO2, hahahaha
@@AquaristForFun lol yeah..using a pressurized co2 now. Forgot to put a check valve.thanks much!
Can you refill co2 using this method?
yes! you find one in fire extinguisher resllers, BB gun stores, etc
If u still check this how long does this last
mine lasts around 6-9 months. I'm at 8-10 bps for my high tech tank running for 7 hours per day I think.
Hello again when u spray co2 extinguisher what does it actually look like I don't no what to buy to try it on one of my tank
A good video ruined by ridiculous jump cuts to memes
