It is laughable him claiming he could beat a professional fighter (now ex fighter) Michael Bisping. What next is he going to claim he could have beaten a prime Mike Tyson or Anderson Silva LOL. Dux has never fought anyone of note, not a single person! Dux even in his prime was obviously not athletically gifted. Sure physiques don't indicate skill but it does show how hard you have trained, Dux in his prime you could scarcely tell he worked out. Look at any video of Dux doing martial arts - he looks mediocre at best, on every level!
He also doesn't have anywhere near the speed .. he claimed he had being faster than Bruce Lee . Their are video's of him in his 30's .. doing kicks etc . A person with exceptional speed like that doesn't lose it all in their late 30's , they still would be faster than the average fighter in their 20's .

In my case I have a background in Karate,HS wrestling, etc. I believe it is always best to stay in your feet if possible in non sport situations. Going to the ground is dangerous and traps you from escape. Yes you need to learn to fight on the ground but overall stay in your feet if you can. Learn all the aspects of fighting you can and keep training.
@@dqreps Ya my understanding is that in self-defense or in military combat the ground is death. I make it a point to scramble to get to my feet when tactically sound. Hopefully this can be avoided with strikes and stand up grappling.
@@dqreps I don't understand this argument. Your legs and arms still work on the ground. Breakdancers do amazing things on the ground and they do not know jiujitsu (or judo). If you're stronger than the other person on the ground or on your feet you're going to have the advantage even if your advantage is smaller.
Well then argument is not that you can not win on the ground.....hell I have won street fights on the ground. The argument is that if you go to the ground other people can trap you. In self-defense,military, or street fights it is rare that a fight is one on one. So best if you stay mobil. Also as I saw in a street fight when 2 guys were rolling on the ground the police arrested both guys. They just looked like a mess of criminal scum to this undercover officer. As one of my Karate teachers said "Why wait for the police.....get the hell out of there"

As a martial artist who claims they have an open mind and want to hear both sides of the story, you personally took a lot of cheap shots at Bisping in that video which seems very disrespectful to a man that put his life on the line over a 13 year pro MMA career and is a lifetime martial artist. As a martial artist yourself, you are entitled to your opinion but that seems below what you've stood for, for so many years on your channel. My continued frustration with your analysis and Frank's claims: 1. Why does Frank's words serve as proof of what he can do and convince you he'd win? While Bisping's actions, credentials and video proof seem to hold no weight towards your decision? 2. Frank says he does not know who Bisping is but is convinced he would win in under a minute. 3. You said Bisping took the quote about Dux being able to beat a UFC fighter out of context, when in fact you did the exact same thing you accused Bisping of doing. Bisping did not say present day Frank would beat him from the clip you showed. He said the quote was from 2016. Yet you say Bisping was trying to say Dux would win in his current age in 2016. Where does Bisping says this? All he said was "In 2016, Dux SAID he could be every UFC champion...." 4. Bisping lost to GSP, one of the greatest fighters of all time. No shame in that and Bisping fought him with one eye. Why do you feel like you need to make fun of Bisping for that? Also, GSP, who is the epitome of a true martial artists, gives Bisping all the respect in the world. 5. GSP was inspired by the movie Bloodsport and Jean-Claude Van Damme. He was not inspired by Frank Dux. 6. Any article that compliments Frank, he says is true. 7. Any article that questions his credentials, he says is a lie. 8. Conveniently cannot fight now. 9. Kumite footage conveniently destroyed. 10. Frank says grappling does not work in the military. The Navy Seals manual Frank references as having his name on it also lists Rorian and Royce Gracie, who are BJJ instructors. So the military does value grappling. Sambo is also another martial art invented for military use, with the goal being to attack your opponents legs so they cannot get up and move, allowing you to escape or kill. 11. The eye gouge stopping a double leg takedown example is one example. There are literally hundreds of examples of it not working. Also, the guy who got poked in the eye was not going for a double leg and is listed as a karate fighter.
First, great post. I’m all about bringing Frank on for nostalgia purposes and I’m willing to listed to him just for that. With that, Dux is demonstrably horrible. Every single demo he’s put out has been HORRIBLE. He’s not an athlete. It’s legit like he saw Martial Arts on TV and was like “I can do this…kind of.” And he sold it to the world. There’s a FB group called Bullsh1t Martial Arts and the director of Blood Sport/Lionheart is in the group. He has some stories about Frank basically showing him as a bad person all around.
Bisping made it sound like the Dux of 2016 said he could beat any UFC champ, he totally took it out of context. Also, the way this video was presented is way more likely to get Bisping's attention, which is the plan. Ideally I can have Bisping and Dux together on the channel, which Dux already agreed to. Also, Bisping is sort of a braggart himself, so if anything, he'll appreciate this video. I shouldn't even have to explain this, should be common sense on the whole plan. Aside from that, it was fair to let Dux defend himself, and I thought he did a tremendous job.

You have to remember Bisping also said "In 2016 I was the champ, so give me a call"... That lets you know Bisping was inferring that Dux was basically saying in 2016 he could beat Bisping.
Supposedly someone broke into his gym, and stole all his video tapes, of him supposedly fighting in the kumite. Which makes zero sense. To make the story seem more believable, he made mention of theft of other properties too. I don’t recall what those even were. It seems awfully strange that the only proof of Frank fighting, was all “stolen”. I’m sure his gym was stolen from. But I doubt he had any tapes. I think he’s just using that past event to his advantage.

I can relate to what Dux said about martial arts training. There is a big difference between sports and combat training. When I was training in TKD, It was for tournaments. Then I began training in Okinawan Shotokan Karate, and my sensei disapproved of training for a tournament we trained strictly for combat/self-defense.
I'm a 2nd degree black belt in old school traditional Korean TKD, I wasn't training for tournaments. I started training in American Kenpo and it was very different, I love TKD but it's not like some these other arts that are seriously dangerous arts.

It also depends on who is teaching you and how, if you never practice using it in potential real life situations or the right and wrong times to use kicks it's not doing you any good. Anybody can learn techniques, you have to learn how to improvise and be smart.

The days of learning 1 style and surviving on the streets and in competition are a thing of the past. The more styles you learn, the better. I'm 50yrs old now and I'm not in very good shape. I was in a near fatal accident that according to the surgeon and specialists I shouldn't have survived. So my days of defending with my hands are over, I'm packing everywhere I go. I just don't like it when people write off traditional martial arts, there is a lot people can get of traditional martial arts. But I have always said, no matter what style you learn, you have to adjust it to work on the streets and you have to know what works and what doesn't. Otherwise you shouldn't use it at all

I’m sorry Viking. I just don’t believe anything that Frank Dux says. No disrespect but his stories are just that…..stories. I got into martial Arts 20 years ago, I was very ignorant, naive, & a little to trusting at the time, the guy I started out with told me he was a 5th degree black belt in "Chinese combative kenpo" plus he was a master of tae kwon do, wing Chung, aikido, judo, & chi gong, and he was also on the swat team, in the army, a prison gaurd & trained over in China & japan, not knowing any better at the time he had me up to a brown belt in "Chinese combative kenpo" in less then a year, there were no forms/katas, only around 5-6 "self defense" techniques per belt, when I finally got smart & questioned him about it he just hung up on me, well fast forward to today his local school is booming & he just got included into a fake martial Arts hall of fame, when I look at frank dux I see that con man I started out with 20 years ago, unfortunately I've ran into a few of them over the years, you'd think with the UFC /MMA coming onto the scene & any information you can find on the internet this kind of thing would've died down, but they know how to manipulate people into believing them, they are masters of the ancient art of bull-shito, he's even got a local MMA school believing him

It's actually kinda funny that submissions are actually less effective now than the were in the early days and striking is more restricted kinda shows VK isn't always living in reality.

In my case I have a background in Karate,HS wrestling, etc. I believe it is always best to stay in your feet if possible in non sport situations. Going to the ground is dangerous and traps you from escape. Yes you need to learn to fight on the ground but overall stay in your feet if you can. Learn all the aspects of fighting you can and keep training.

@@dqreps Ya my understanding is that in self-defense or in military combat the ground is death. I make it a point to scramble to get to my feet when tactically sound. Hopefully this can be avoided with strikes and stand up grappling.
@@dqreps I don't understand this argument. Your legs and arms still work on the ground. Breakdancers do amazing things on the ground and they do not know jiujitsu (or judo). If you're stronger than the other person on the ground or on your feet you're going to have the advantage even if your advantage is smaller.
Well then argument is not that you can not win on the ground.....hell I have won street fights on the ground. The argument is that if you go to the ground other people can trap you. In self-defense,military, or street fights it is rare that a fight is one on one. So best if you stay mobil.
Also as I saw in a street fight when 2 guys were rolling on the ground the police arrested both guys. They just looked like a mess of criminal scum to this undercover officer. As one of my Karate teachers said "Why wait for the police.....get the hell out of there"

As a martial artist who claims they have an open mind and want to hear both sides of the story, you personally took a lot of cheap shots at Bisping in that video which seems very disrespectful to a man that put his life on the line over a 13 year pro MMA career and is a lifetime martial artist.
As a martial artist yourself, you are entitled to your opinion but that seems below what you've stood for, for so many years on your channel.
My continued frustration with your analysis and Frank's claims:
1. Why does Frank's words serve as proof of what he can do and convince you he'd win? While Bisping's actions, credentials and video proof seem to hold no weight towards your decision?
2. Frank says he does not know who Bisping is but is convinced he would win in under a minute.
3. You said Bisping took the quote about Dux being able to beat a UFC fighter out of context, when in fact you did the exact same thing you accused Bisping of doing.
Bisping did not say present day Frank would beat him from the clip you showed. He said the quote was from 2016. Yet you say Bisping was trying to say Dux would win in his current age in 2016. Where does Bisping says this? All he said was "In 2016, Dux SAID he could be every UFC champion...."
4. Bisping lost to GSP, one of the greatest fighters of all time. No shame in that and Bisping fought him with one eye. Why do you feel like you need to make fun of Bisping for that? Also, GSP, who is the epitome of a true martial artists, gives Bisping all the respect in the world.
5. GSP was inspired by the movie Bloodsport and Jean-Claude Van Damme. He was not inspired by Frank Dux.
6. Any article that compliments Frank, he says is true.
7. Any article that questions his credentials, he says is a lie.
8. Conveniently cannot fight now.
9. Kumite footage conveniently destroyed.
10. Frank says grappling does not work in the military. The Navy Seals manual Frank references as having his name on it also lists Rorian and Royce Gracie, who are BJJ instructors. So the military does value grappling. Sambo is also another martial art invented for military use, with the goal being to attack your opponents legs so they cannot get up and move, allowing you to escape or kill.
11. The eye gouge stopping a double leg takedown example is one example. There are literally hundreds of examples of it not working. Also, the guy who got poked in the eye was not going for a double leg and is listed as a karate fighter.
First, great post. I’m all about bringing Frank on for nostalgia purposes and I’m willing to listed to him just for that. With that, Dux is demonstrably horrible. Every single demo he’s put out has been HORRIBLE. He’s not an athlete. It’s legit like he saw Martial Arts on TV and was like “I can do this…kind of.” And he sold it to the world. There’s a FB group called Bullsh1t Martial Arts and the director of Blood Sport/Lionheart is in the group. He has some stories about Frank basically showing him as a bad person all around.
Bisping made it sound like the Dux of 2016 said he could beat any UFC champ, he totally took it out of context. Also, the way this video was presented is way more likely to get Bisping's attention, which is the plan. Ideally I can have Bisping and Dux together on the channel, which Dux already agreed to. Also, Bisping is sort of a braggart himself, so if anything, he'll appreciate this video. I shouldn't even have to explain this, should be common sense on the whole plan. Aside from that, it was fair to let Dux defend himself, and I thought he did a tremendous job.

Supposedly someone broke into his gym, and stole all his video tapes, of him supposedly fighting in the kumite. Which makes zero sense. To make the story seem more believable, he made mention of theft of other properties too. I don’t recall what those even were. It seems awfully strange that the only proof of Frank fighting, was all “stolen”. I’m sure his gym was stolen from. But I doubt he had any tapes. I think he’s just using that past event to his advantage.

I can relate to what Dux said about martial arts training. There is a big difference between sports and combat training. When I was training in TKD, It was for tournaments. Then I began training in Okinawan Shotokan Karate, and my sensei disapproved of training for a tournament we trained strictly for combat/self-defense.
I'm a 2nd degree black belt in old school traditional Korean TKD, I wasn't training for tournaments. I started training in American Kenpo and it was very different, I love TKD but it's not like some these other arts that are seriously dangerous arts.

The days of learning 1 style and surviving on the streets and in competition are a thing of the past.
The more styles you learn, the better. I'm 50yrs old now and I'm not in very good shape. I was in a near fatal accident that according to the surgeon and specialists I shouldn't have survived. So my days of defending with my hands are over, I'm packing everywhere I go.
I just don't like it when people write off traditional martial arts, there is a lot people can get of traditional martial arts. But I have always said, no matter what style you learn, you have to adjust it to work on the streets and you have to know what works and what doesn't. Otherwise you shouldn't use it at all

I got into martial Arts 20 years ago, I was very ignorant, naive, & a little to trusting at the time, the guy I started out with told me he was a 5th degree black belt in "Chinese combative kenpo" plus he was a master of tae kwon do, wing Chung, aikido, judo, & chi gong, and he was also on the swat team, in the army, a prison gaurd & trained over in China & japan, not knowing any better at the time he had me up to a brown belt in "Chinese combative kenpo" in less then a year, there were no forms/katas, only around 5-6 "self defense" techniques per belt, when I finally got smart & questioned him about it he just hung up on me, well fast forward to today his local school is booming & he just got included into a fake martial Arts hall of fame, when I look at frank dux I see that con man I started out with 20 years ago, unfortunately I've ran into a few of them over the years, you'd think with the UFC /MMA coming onto the scene & any information you can find on the internet this kind of thing would've died down, but they know how to manipulate people into believing them, they are masters of the ancient art of bull-shito, he's even got a local MMA school believing him

True. He was the greatest martial artist at his weight for a short time, and doing it with one eye makes the achievement so incredible. Noone has ever done that before.
