      None of these cards can run Arma 3 at 1440p max settings at 60fps not even at 1080p. Kinda misleading how you said all current titles - I'm guessing you were basing your opinion more on Triple A games that are also available on consoles. Cause Arma 3 is a PC exclusive and that came out in 2013 so a 1070 should in theory destroy it especially with 8GB of VRAM. Yea the game is poorly optimised but saying all games then Arma 3 should be included too or any other game whether they're optimised or not.

    • @UlrichLeland
      @UlrichLeland Před 4 lety

      @@IndieChilloutMusic That's because Arma 3 is pretty much totally CPU dependant.

    Thank you all for the kind words. To anyone asking for a 1080 comparison, keep in mind the 1080 versions of these cards are largely the same, everything I've said here applies to the 1080 cards for the most part.
    Regarding 1060 cards, I did compare 3 of those, I will compare the 3GB EVGA SC to the 6GB EVGA SC as well, but otherwise I'm probably done with the 1060 cards, time to get back to desktops and laptops and how-to videos! :)
    RX 460/470 videos will also be coming within the week.

      You have a great channel keep up the work! I just bought the EVGA 1070 FTW loving it getting 2100mhz core clock and 450mhz on memory using a 1440p/Gsync/144hz. Also you forgot about the dual bios that the FTW has. Also the cooling on the FTW is simply amazing even @ 100% fan speed you can't hear it...and temps on unigine heaven benchmark it gets up to 55c with the OC.

      Parabalani the brush matters a lot more. now you can get good performance out of a whitening mouth was as well, but that's more of an add on and maintenance purchase, whereas a standard, powerful mouth wash will deal with your breath, which is also very important for a functional dental hygiene.

      I'm a sucker for EVGA, since their customer support are top notched. Currently the FTW and SC are the same price on amazon, $440, so get the FTW.
      However, if you prioritize cooling over everything else, get the G1. It runs at a lower temp.

      I'm pretty sure it's covered under Asia & Pacific. Just that the RMA process would be tedious. you gotta send it to Taiwan (nearest HQ) should anything happen.

  • @DmitriWeissman
    @DmitriWeissman Před 8 lety +9

    I went with EVGA SC model because:
    1. I wanted reference PCB due to much wider range watercooling parts
    2. EVGA probably offers the best warranty. you can remove the cooler for replacing TIM or watercooling and it will not void the waranty.
    3. It was the only one available at MSRP price at the time of buying.
    There is also EVGA SC Black Edition which cost 420 and lacks the led lightning - I'd buy it if it was available 2 months ago.

    • @PHOBIAx57x
      @PHOBIAx57x Před 8 lety

      My EVGA SC coil whined like crazy. Googling it seems EVGA and Gigabyte are making tons of cards with coil whine. I returned it because tons of people were RMA'ing 2 or 3 times only to get another card with coil whine. Going to try MSI or Asus Strix.

      @PHOBIAx57x Před 8 lety

      nickxcore74 Only issue is I don't like the looks of the cooler. Red doesn't go with my build, and people are getting GPU sag despite the backplate. I think I just might pick up a Founders Edition based on aesthetics alone.

    • @DmitriWeissman
      @DmitriWeissman Před 8 lety

      nickxcore74 MSI is low tier manufacturer that behaves like "wanna be" top tier. In last decade MSI made some progress, but they are far from being true top tier with appropriate QC, support, software etc.

      M8Military Wrong. Think of how much it costs in the USA. Get 20% of that original price. That is how much import tax we will have to pay to ship it from USA. So now add that on top of the original price, add the $40 shipping, is that really saving £160?

    Hey Tech Deals! I absolutely enjoy all of the videos I've watched pertaining to questions I had about video cards. You've helped me in this video figure out what card I would like to get for my monitor. I purchased a 1080p 144hz 1ms and now I know exactly which one to get. Saved me money from going all in on a 1080 gpu. One last thing, everything about how you explain tips and topics of cards are simply fantastic. This has to be one of the best tech videos I've seen in a while. Are you a salesman by trade? If not, you should be. The beginning came off a bit "sales-y" and I almost tuned out, but I was quickly drawn in by your wealth of knowledge, attention to detail, and comfort with the subject. It's clear you prepared well. This is second only to Linus in terms of depth and information. I learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know. Too many tech blogs and guides skip over the basics. They assume you know why some cards need two 8-pin connectors, or what all the crazy buzz words in their model names mean. Not everyone just knows it all immediately. I appreciate you breaking it down. I'll definitely check out more of your videos. One suggestion - if there's any way to edit it down to under 10 minutes but still pack in all the salient points, I feel that would be perfect - either in verbosity or post production. Other than that, this was awesome.

    could i ask if you have knowledge on dell xps tower pcs. they have an offer for a i7 6700, gtx 1070, 16mb ram etc. seems a good price under 1200 uk gbp. its compact, not bothered about lighting. i just want a good all round pc that wont blow up after a year. lol. im not sure what 1070 they use, perhaps a founders type??? as its a compact case.???
    i have never really got into pcs. not because they are rubbish. being honest, its all about complications/barriers.
    for instants, when i went into a pc store many years ago, the guy spent more time telling me how much better and more powerful his pc was than any he was talking about. hardly a gr8 sales tactic, lol. then you got all these cards, and all the other components that nobody agrees on. one says its amazing, the next says no, no, no, get that.
    even when you think you got it right, you get another one put doubts in your head and my head just gets screwed up.
    ..........so i end up going, oh look theres a ps4 or xbox one to play games. i just get one design, slap game in and enjoy........yeah, yeah, i know pcs are better overall. i have heard that for years and i know its true. i just want it to be more straight forward to finally make my bloody mind up.
    its like going into a car showroom and the car salesman says dont buy this and that. that never will happen, they just want the sale, know what your eyeing up and head for the sale.

Question: at this point in time does it make sense to stay with, or even buy a 1070 since the new generation RTX cards are released, and now even an rtx 260. How much better performance would I get with 2 1070's in sli? since I basically Just bought a new EVGA FTW a month ago and am a little pissed that the RTX 260 was released with more or less the same price as s new 1070.

    i'm new to PC gaming, i bought the ASUS GTX 1070 ROG Strix Gaming, but i have to wonder.
    Why is such a big segment of the video so focused on the Aura RGB Lighting?
    Most computers are on the floor aren't they? And the graphics card is usually inside the case, why are people so focused on the looks of the card?

    • @IonoTheFanatics
      @IonoTheFanatics Před 7 lety +5

      because they don't put them on the floor, and the case is partially transparent
      the RGB equipped hardwares generally are used by ppl who also use case with the tempered glass side panel (these days case which are virtually tempered glass panel all around are not uncommon) which also usually have LED strip built into the case itself, several even... all of which are controlled either by the motherboard or by an LED controller mechanism attached to the motherboard
      in short... they are not for ppl like you or most regular gamers, but instead for ppl actually took their look and lighting seriously and also have the correct case and hardwares...
      these days, case with at least side transparent panel is quite normal as most case manufacturers have realized that it's pretty much the standard now for PC gaming hardwares.
      and as mentioned before, case with transparent panel on top, and both sides are also coming into the market.

But there is a big but, these cards are HEAVY af, you can expect some sag and the end of the cards. Tbh i was a bit disappointed having to deal with the sag, considering paying for premium quality. I had two MSI 980ti Lightning edition before these cards and even though they're almost the same weight, there was absolutely no sag with the MSI cards. So if the 1080ti comes out, i wil be getting MSI lightning edition again. You only need to consider the weight if you're going with the heaviest cards on the market, i don't think the sag would be an issue on the smaller cards.
