Martial challenge Michael Thomas vs Dierk Hagedorn Longsword

A Longsword Martial challenge fought between two longsword instructors, one from the UK, one from Germany, judicated by Claus Sørensen from Denmark, also a longsword instructor. The bout was fought to the first to seven good strikes.

between 1.3-1.5kg, one is an Albion Liechtenauer, the other a Hanwei Tinker Peirce, both purpose built for this training and to weigh and handle like sharps.

Students buy their own swords. We lend swords out to beginners but expect them to buy their own fairly quickly. Few schools have a stock of weapons available to use, not only for the cost but the wear they take through regular use.
