Indeed. Just because he was calm, quiet and nice, didn't mean he couldn't also serve justice and punish evil doers. Calm waters run the deepest (same for Lan Zhan when he was fed up with how Wei Ying was treated, since he knew WY's true nature after going through so much together). Meng Yao faked kindness and gratitude very well, just so he could scheme and kill anyone who stood in his way.

I have always been a fan of gray villain who is not evil for the sake of being evil but rather a number of situations force them to become a monster. Here, Mengyao is one such villain, if his dad had treated him with a little bit of love and care of a father, he might not have become the evil manipulative scheming bastard that he became!! ☹️☹️ It is sad how people turn out

Sadly brother MingJue died because he saw how Meng Yao really was and called him out. Meng Yao also became greedy. But the incenst part and killing his own son were what made me really angry. Only psychos do such things.
