      I just graduated BMT as part of the first full Space Force flight, and I am currently waiting to start tech school classes to start. 6/31 specialists from my flight are 1C6. Warning for future tech schoolers, Vandenburg AFB does not have a Chipotle or an In and Out, and you can’t go off base until you are in second phase, but the dorms are very nice.

    I was a 1C6 just over 20 years ago! Neat that they've kept that code for enlisted. Our class makeup was pretty unique, we had 4 pipeline airmen, 2 NCOs, 2 butterbars and 2 captains in the same class. I doubt the same happens these days.

    Hey, I've watched almost all of your videos and really appreciate the detailed and unsolicited information you put together regarding jobs and descriptions; it is very insightful! Could you do a video comparing and contrasting Space Force active duty vs reserves (if reserves are even an option yet in this early stage)? I was told by an Air/Space Force Recruiter that most people decide to go active duty and the few who go reserves are often older, technically specialized, part time contributors (ie professors). Thank you for helping pave the way and making space safe for everyone! Best Regards

      Also, more relevant to this specific subject:
      How long does each phase of the training program take phases 1-5?
      How many undergraduate credits do phases 1-5 offer?
      Are OUST/EUST Space Ops graduates typically pipelined directly into on the job training roles from there or do any continue immediately into specific post-graduate level studies?
      Does the Space Force also offer post-graduate level studies on or off Vandenberg? or are higher level post grad classes typically offered through partnerships with external Universities?

    All officers and enlisted are in class together--officers just go through an addition block. From people that had just gone through just prior to the OUST and EUST combing, and some that have experienced the latest UST, it's much more difficult and demanding that it us to be.

      @@yingyang7448 hey! Thank you for the check in, here’s the update. I got my masters in Social Work and I am currently a Medical Operations Officer in the National Guard. In order to be a Military Social Worker, I need to have my Clinical License, which I will attain in about a year. As for the Space Force, they do not hire Social Workers directly, but they do have an embedded program. This means that they will hire Social Workers from the Air Force and place them into Space Force units as their primary provider. So right now my plan is to finish up my Clinical supervision, get my clinical license, then switch to the Air Force and apply for the embedded program. It will take a lot of hard work, but in the end it will all pay off.

    • @rayshoup5334
      @rayshoup5334 Před 7 měsíci

      @@yingyang7448so the military only hires Social Workers who are Clinically Licensed. So I have about a year of supervision left to attain that. Currently the Space Force does not hire social workers, but they do have Embedded Air Force Social Workers serve. This mean that an Air Force Social Worker is attached to a Space Force Unit. If the Space Force continues to grow, they will likely hire their own medical team.

      Bring it up, but be prepared to only be offered Air Force. You need to do well on the ASVAB, my flight's average score was in the 90's. Don't sign anything you don't want to do, but you can stay in DEP for a while. They may threaten to drop you from DEP, idk. I was in it for a few months. Unless they have USSF specific recruiters by now, which I'm pretty sure they don't. OTS, I don't think they guarantee a job, but that's SpaceNerd's domain. Good luck.
