Haha rite! I loved Harald and now he's the villain. Last season it was Ivar. I think he will be cool with Bjorn because they have to team up with the Russ coming. Ivar is going to have his brothers back and take their side once they arrive in Kattaget. Mark my words. Last 2 episodes should be great to say the least.

@@alexman378 You nailed it. Vikings were known and judged upon their hospitality. It is dishonorable to invite someone into your hearth and treat them as anything less than an honored guest. Its why Harald didn't outright attack Ubbe later in the series when he went to negotiate for Alfred. Its also why Rollo and Torstein immediately held bad taste towards Jarl Borg when he had them waiting in the cold before their initial attempt to negotiate for King Horik.

@@nathanaelamante8413 it was not cheating itself, but the situation after - when Aslaug came to Kattegat pregnant and Ragnar wanted to have both women as his wives. Lagertha got defeated then and there, I think - in the sense that there was nothing she could do that would prevent what she percieved as an absolute disaster. And yet she blamed Auslag instead of Ragnar for this... This here is why she killed her.
What is absolutely hilarious to me is that she blamed Auslag for "bewitching" Ragnar, as if he had no free will, but Lagertha herself was absolutely bewitched by Ragnar and would do almost anything for him. She even saved their whole family.
She showed mercy while the children were small and Ragnar seemed to like Aslaug enough, but once these things were out of the equation, she went for the kill, because there were no reprocussions from Ragnar.
I don't think it was power that made her do this, it was jealousy and revenge for perceived wrong. Lagertha had almost everything, but the one thing missing (fertility) was in her eyes enough to "destroy" her marriage, and "drove" Ragnar to Aslaug.

Ivar and Bjorn are the two most dominant Vikings at this point and each have different leadership styles and opposing ideals. Bjorn leads with charisma and battle prowace while Ivar uses fear and pride to lead his men. In the end of their story arc, I feel that Bjorn wins in this theme of corruption in power. At the end of Bjorn's long journey he becomes the noble king of Norway and maintains the righteous virtues of being a leader, overcoming the challenge of corruption that Ragnar warned him about.

I don't think Ivar attempting to kill Bjorn was his main goal in this moment. Much like in York, he's making it clear who is more powerful. In both incidents we see it happen. Ivar took over York and Ubbe left with the minority of the men. When Ivar and Harald defeated Bjorn, it was Ivar who became king, even though that was Harald's ambition. In short, this was a power play, Ivar made it clear to Harald who was in charge, and Harald was visibly threatened

The actor who plays Rollo explained in this behind the scene interview.
The reason he sides with Ivar and Harald against Lagertha , who he has always loved .He sees Hvitserk in himself and he needs to give him these soldiers and his boats so Hvitserk can go back to Ivar , this brother that is so like Ragnar . He is giving him a chance to shine and make himself Famous.
I guess from what Clive Stanton is saying is Rollo was always overshadowed by Ragnar. he sees the similarities in the relationship between Ivar and Hvitserk and is probably living vicariously through Hvitserk so he can prove to himself that he was just as good as Ragnar . by siding with Hvitserk he is proving something to himself.
He sees Hvitserk in himself being overshadowed by the more Famous brother Ivar. who has so much of Ragnar’s intelligence and personality traits.
