The city of Bogata Texas tests their siren on the first and third Monday of the month at 7:00 PM.
I saw the video that amberlynn6914 uploaded and I knew that I had to see this siren in action. It was a two hour drive from my house but it was worth it, because thunderbolts are awesome and very loud no matter how sick they are. - Komedie

Near my house there is a 2t22, it sounds just as bad as this. I know 2t22 and 1000t are completely differnt things. But It's just a comparison. the 2t22 at my fire house might even be worse than this.

i commented on a video of this same siren before.. and again i will say this thunderbolts siren head needs work doing on it.. i wonder if they ever will get to fixing this one up... hmm.. either way great video :)

Not exactly when it was manufactured. I Believe it was restored and installed in Bogota in the late 90s

Was this a blower issue? Sounds like it. I can hear the blower moving. Looks like a thunderbolt got struck it, Lol. It sounds like my lawnmower in some parts of this test. It sounds way better "restored".
The chopper wound down before the timer shut the blower off
The chopper motor bearings were completely shot. It had nothing to do with the blower.

With this sounding so bad Federal will have to come out and do a replacement with a 2001-130 or 508

It’s weird how the blower stays on after the chopper stops
I'm pretty that's the choppers fault because when it winds down it winds down to quick before the agastat timer is done
It’s because the bearings are bad so the chopper winds down quicker than in should

Basically there’s a whole community siren enthusiasts, We record and document different types of air raid/tornado sirens. I found out from one of my friends who recorded it before I did. Also yes, this sirens is pretty old.
@@OWS_Crazy1 thanks for letting me in on the information. It go’s off every day at noon. There’s also one in mount pleasant tx that go’s off at noon to let everyone know it’s dinner .
I have a good feeling that a T-128 could replace this.
The city is pretty small. I don’t know if the would be able to afford it

Some thunderbolts get really sick and some thunderbolts stay healthy no matter how old they are

Those bearings and brushes need some help my god.
It got a chopper swap in around 2019 and is now a 1000. It sounds MUCH better, but still is slightly sick as it has dirty collector rings.

No this is a motor brush and bearing problem. If it was collector rings, there would be a pattern as the horn rotates. Also, collector rings do not make the siren wind down really fast.

The first wound up it does sound better than O'Fallon but the wound up @ 1:08 makes it sound way worse than O'Fallon and you can compare them

@@kayderrobh5931 It's actually fixed now, it's just a single tone now so they must've just replaced the whole chopper motor housing from the inside, or they actually bothered to change it the brushes or bearings. Which is good because I'd hate to see this thing get replaced.

It probably is, but I’m I’m not totally sure because I could not read the tag.
The controls were fenced off
C series bolts were known for being very cheaply made. Probably about 98 percent of the sick thunderbolts on CZcams are C series ones
This might of possibly been restored sometime back in the 90s.
But if it was possibly restored they did a very bad job with maintaining it.

It was fixed, Thank God!! I'd hate to see these things get replaced. Like add new sirens to new areas but don't replace the old ones! Fix them! That'd probably also be the cheaper rout too as well.

That’s not good
The reason why it’s so low pitched is because the bearings are bad so the chopper can’t reach a proper speed. That’s also why it winds down so quickly
