I met Garry Moore in 1992 in London at a gign my friend was promoting Frankly, he was the nicest person anyone could hope to meet. I was lucky enough to have more than a few drinks with Gary and the band after the gig. I met him a few times after that and all I can say is that he was a unique musician. He loved people - displayed no side or judgement and could relate to anyone - he just embraced whatever life's shit hand dealt and managed to find a positive somewhere under the dirt. Over the years I have known a lot of famous people in the business - few will measure up tp this man - and many will never simply compare. He was (and still remains) a blues rock god. Sadly, even gods die. RIP Gary you are still loved. Nicko
I'm from Russia, and I don't understand a single word in the song. But this song is very important to me, because it reminds me of my first unhappy love. There will never be such a musician again. Gary, I really miss you.
Absolutely Heartbreaking, Soulful, Beautiful… Gary Moore’s Guitar playing was like no other, his Voice was Fantastic and he Never got enough credit for his Unbelievable Talent 🎸 you are Missed, Gary 🌹
as a fellow Northern irish man I agree, such a talent followed him from thin lizzy right up to the blues, broke my heart when he passed was an idol ....
I never thought his voice was all that amazing. Especially in his later years. But if he wasn’t the most emotional lead guitar player I’ve ever heard then I don’t know who was
The thing about Gary Moore is that he had more heart than the metal players and more technique than the blues players and that's what made him so blisteringly soulful.
I think he had more technique than the metal players as well. Though he didn't do endless sweep arpeggios all night he did other things that metal players couldn't do. I agree he was unbelievably soulful.
I mean that depends on what kind of metal you are focusing, I can tell you that if you listen to the glam bands´power ballads you will find the finest and most touching solos.
I remember him from Skid Row days before Thin Lizzy and knew then he would be the greatest in years to come. This song was played so much when I lived in Bahrain and that's 25 years ago or more but still has the quality and feef today as it will have in the next 25 years. RIP Gary ...............always the best
So many musicians get lost in their own cliches and lose their curiosity, Gary was ALWAYS inspired and inspiring, finding new colurs in tone, new songs, new styles but newer loosing himself, a master of emotions, thank you Gary.
Sitting here during lockdown (May 2020) and feeling pretty blue. Two years since the love of my life has died! Can't get enough of Garys music right now! Ordered every CD I could find of his! This man not only touches my heart with his music, but my soul! Wish I would of found you many, many years ago Gary! You will be timeless in the hearts of many Gary! RIP, your music lives on!
Sorry for your lost my friend, stay strong! Gary's music touches the soul, for me the guitar in this gig is crying out my past.... Much love for you, take care and keep listening to great music!
Gary was a guitar prodigy at a young age. Never cared for drugs and womanizing which has destroyed many many people. He was focused on his gift and was a mans man when it came to his music. Gary Moore lives forever.
So nicely said. Such a talented gentleman. But his passion was gut-wrenching sometimes.. I felt that. I really learned how to put my heart & soul into my music through learning to play Empty Roomz..
@@MrAdriancooke His B.A.C. was 3when he died was 3.80 !!! I was shocked when I learned that because he certainly did not have the reputation of an alcohol-fuelled musician - nor as a drug-taker. But apparently in the last 2 years of life he did binge on alcohol hard sometimes - as he must have done whilst on holiday with his family in Spain, where he died - because it's assumed that such a high B.A.C. caused him to have a heart attack, and he died in his sleep. He passed away on my birthday, btw - 6th February, 2011.
When I listen to any other guitar virtuoso’s song on CZcams and I read the comments, it’s mostly about how technically proficient the guy is or how fast is he playing. This many people can’t be wrong. And that is point of music my friends. That’s the point of any art form. Making people feel something. Something worth revisiting again and again.

I used to play in a covers band in Australia that played quite a few Gary Moore covers. I was the keyboardist. Gary brought a new sonic pallet to my life. I had the privilege of seeing him live in London twice in concert. At a concert at Brixton Academy I caught and then dropped his pick at the end of the gig. I also saw him support BB King at Wembley Arena. I will never get sick of listening to his musical genius
The 6th of July 2010 he did this fantastic gig at The Montreux Jazz Festival. and he was not well at all but still gave all he had... The 6th of February 2011, only 7 month's later, he said goodbye to this world. Still missing that special tone and feeling he shared with us...
Mesmerising player, so brilliant are all Gary's appearances, no wonder he has still got a great amount of fans and this song and the accompanying guitar playing confirm his wonderment. Thanks for the work the band put in to these outstanding performances as well! Amazing! RIP great man.
I am always amazed at how incredible his guitar tone is. Articulate, saturated, but always clearly defined. And with the bare minimum between his fingers and the speakers...
And of course there’s Rory Gallagher every bit as good as Gary Moore another Irish master who left too soon both are some of the best there ever was then or now
