When I first got my 562xp, I had an issue with restarting it when it was warm. Quite embarrassing when you are helping a neighbor and bragging about the saw. Well what good is it if you can’t start it? Then I found out that you don’t use the decompression valve when the saw is warm. Since I stopped using the decompression valve on restarts, it starts immediately. I think that is why they removed the decompression valve, it’s not necessary. JMO. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers

They removed the Decompression valves mainly because the smaller saws had a lot of problems with leaking decompression valves due to the small delicate design required for the decomp on such small saw. I replaced the decomp with a plug on my 562xp because of that.

I bought one of the first 362's in Scotland and it has been my 'back o' the truck' saw for years. It gets wet, dry, dusty and it thrives on neglect. It helps my local dealer is a real diamond and sold it tome at £200 and some pounds less than S.R.P.

I wish more people would say what you said in comparing the two different differences saws. Your statement should apply to so many things things (tractors, cars, trucks etc.) What you said was that - they were both good saws and would do what they were supposed to do. Which one do you like? Which one do you have a close , good dealer to work with you. - -

I have owned a 572 and then two 562's and before that a Stihl Wood Boss 072 I think (been a long time). The first 562 was good for a few years and then crank bearing or crank seal failed and my dealer said it wasn't worth fixing because by the time he fixed it I would have almost as much into it as a new saw but with no warranty. So in March of 2022 I bought another 562. I cut about 30 cord of wood usually in the spring/summer time frame and then use it sparingly in fall and winter when I cut a little wood for my camp or sauna. So this year I used it for a few hours one day in the winter and then early May I cut down a couple of small trees and set the saw down to move some brush and the saw quit running. When I tried to start it the saw pulled hard and never fired. Took it to my dealer and they said crank seal or bearing went again. Since I was 1-2 months over warranty dealer didn't think Husqvarna would honor the warranty but they checked and they wouldn't. Dealer suggested I go online and try contacting Husqvarna that way and they sent the standard "Thank you for your ...we will get back to you within 24-48 hours". It was 10 days and they still never replied so then I replied back to the standard email and the next day got the reply that they can't replace my saw or pay to fix it because I was out of warranty. I keep thinking I should have used it one day in March while still in warranty and then they would have gone good for it. Hard for me to stay with a company that won't do anything if you are just out of warranty and have only cut 30 cords of firewood with a saw that you paid almost $1,000 for! They could have at least gave me a credit of $200-$300 toward a new saw. I have ordered a Stihl 362 now. Won't go back to Husqvarna with customer service like that.

@@InTheWoodyard When I purchased this last 562 the dealer told me Husqvarna made some changes to improve it over the one that had previously failed so I was not impressed with that because the new one failed faster than the previous one. And even if this all new mark II version is better, why would I want to take a chance when it might fail just out of warranty again and customer service just tells me they can't do anything about that instead of trying to do something to keep a customer such as offer some money off on the next saw purchase.

I have watched many CZcams videos from Germany of people cutting wood. Even a tree service in Stuttgart. I have seen more Husqvarna saws in use compared to Stihl. That tells me there is more value with Husqvarna in today‘s market. No brand loyalty here and the most I own currently were made by Dolmar. I too find the switching means on Stihl counter intuitive. I have another one that compares pretty good to these. Its a bit over 60cc think its 64 or 65cc but close enough the Makita 6421 not sure what they call them now think they quit making that model a few years ago but sure they make basically the same saw just a little updated. If you like the dogs you will like the Makita/Dolmar saws man those things are huge that come on them lol. Really nice saw its a bit heavy though it seems for a saw that size. From my understanding though the bottom end is exactly the same as their bigger saws so you can get think its a 70cc and 78cc piston and cylinder and it will work with the bottom end of the 6421. Think they are like $600 maybe a little more than that fairly reasonable for a pro saw of that size.

Few years ago purchased a new Husky and it cut like crap. After I removed the spark arrestor, it cut as good as any previous saw.... The "new" saw was headed for the dump before the modification. The local dealer had "no clue" and told me this new saw was cutting "normal". Also had to sell my new Husky snowblower as that too worked like crap. Never any more Husky's for me - ever.

    I have the 362, 462 & 661 Stihl chainsaws.
I feel like the 362 is mehh in power with a 20in bar. Awesome in terms of reliability.
It is my least favorite of the three, however it's the one that gets the most work due to its lighter weight.
In its defense it is a whole pound lighter than the 562.
562 is a slob, in the sense that it weighs more than a 462 (13.4 vs 13.2).
I would not recommend either, I believe the husky 550 is great lil saw. Should it not be enough saw a Stihl 462 is no slouch.

The tooth was rocking back changing the angle of the tooth's top angle where you didn't get the cutting corner (6:44 in the video). And you can see it in the video. Husky seems to have gotten it right with the new 562. I wouldn't have gave you 10 cents for one of the first ones. I have only owned one Stihl 362. I was never that impressed with it. If I had my choice. I would always take my ms460 over it because it only weighs a couple pounds more but the power difference is astronomical between them. What I always liked was my ms261 for anything 12 inches and under and my ms460 for everything pretty much 8 inch to 24 inches in diameter. Anything over 24 inches I always liked my ms660. Especially for felling.
