Is it possible to add shaders to DH with optifine + Forge? DH and forge work on its own but optifine seems to turn off DH.
Is there another shader mod for forge that replaces optifine?

The distant horizons mod only "keeps" the loaded chunks. You still have to explore and load new chunks. The render distance on new chunks are determined on your vanilla minecraft settings :)

Hello. I installed the mod and I am having trouble getting it to work. I have the mod installed and I am able to get into the menu and it says I'm using 60% of my 10gig allocation for the CPU. I thought it might be rendering but the mod never renders anything above my default 30 chunk render distance from the menu

Hey mate,
Tried installing this and put optifine in the folder as well.
The distance at which it renders seems much lower than what I see in youtube videos.
I've upped my render distance to 64 chunks, but I believe that to be the same as if I had only optifine installed.
Any advice?

Dont use optifine its outdated and it does more harm than good .Use sodium

Ended up finding a way simpler way of getting it all working than what is shown in the guide on this video. Just one download and install, including shaders.

I don't know if anyone can help me, but ive tried using fabric and forge, and my game crashes on startup. when i take the distant horizons mod out of the folder, the game will launch fine. I just cant get it to work at all.

so i downloaded forge but when i try to open it on the desktop like you it just sends me to my folder where the download file is. and the logo of the forge on my desktop isnt like yours, its the opera sign. then i tried to download it from the microsoft edge browser but it still has the opera sign. can anyone help me?

Looks like a jar file in this vid so I think you need to install a java thing to make java work

Don't do anything, they are pre-installed mods (you're probably using tlauncher) or you have manually installed them. Just ignore those files
