I think Zod was heartbroken after he lost all possibiloties to bring back his people and wanted to die. And his biggest revenge was making Superman killing him.
I remember there were people complaining about this fight scene. LMAO!! So you don't expect two super-powered beings capable of wiping the planet out not to have a destructive fight? 🙄

The fact that this is still the most destructive fight put to film is what makes this movie so great. Cavill is a truly underrated Superman since people love the one that is accepted by the people easily and has no inner conflict. The superman in this movie is the Perfect superman to me because he isn't the all indestructible, unmovable, emotionally stable hero we know. He has flaws... He stumbles and he fails... But he will always stand up for the people even if they hate him for it. That to me is Superman, it's what every portrayal should aspire to be or to at the very least mimic. Although it's just my opinion k
