Very nice song sad but a good one. My momma n daddy both are gone. It's sure a lonesome feeling. I think of my childhood a lot. Love you momma n daddy ❤ ❤. Rest easy. See you soon.

Last night I laid down everything was so fine
Had mother and dad so much on my mind
Thinking of home and the ones I love so
Everything was so great around the old home
Then I woke up I was a dreaming
No mother no dad no children a playing
Everything was so quiet everybody was gone
There was nothing left but a lonesome old home
Then I got up the sun was so bright
I looked all around but something's not right
I walked out the door and there on a hill
Stood two lonesome graves Lord it gave me a chill
As I stood there everything was so still
As I started to leave those lonesome old hills
Leaving behind where I used to roam
Momma and dad and a lonesome old home

Love Bluegrass Music! Raised up on it. There three part harmonies give me chills, stand the hair up on my arms. That’s when you know it’s good 😊

Saw these fellows a couple of times live and had dinner once with James King.

This song is the story of my life. I'm crying listening to it. My name is WINDY MOUNTAIN. The trailer is the exact model and color of one we used to live in. The man in the lounge chair looks exactly like my Uncle Chris (my spiritual father). I'm crying. THank you for doing this. Love and Peace, Windy Mountain

I love the harmonies in these songs. Reminds me of my old house and the few older folks who would gather around. People that I now miss.

The best harmonizing you will likely ever hear on a song. I listen to it quite often. A lot of other groups have sang this song and most do a good job, but these guys in my opinion are the best. I have 4 of their albums and love all their songs. Ron

Assuming most Bg fans know this. But Longview was a band established by a recording company to sell CD's. Guys like J D, Ron and Don. Each went back to their respective bands when the tour was over.

Im stumped. Who is singing lead.? Rigsby is singing harmony pretty sure of that. How right you are Wayne
Nicholson. Possibly Dudley Cornell on lead?
