it would have to be extremely cold for that to happen. It's 20 degrees here and our diesels fire up with no problem. And if it does get that cold where you live, you can use the engine block heater.
I want this truck. I am torn between the diesel and the V8. Love the V8 noise, but not the cylinder deactivation. I heard great things about the Duramax, but never owned a diesel.
I own this truck with the diesel. One huge reason I chose that was the 6.2 requires premium fuel along with much higher cost of ownership over time. That all being said, I’d love this truck with either option. Diesel just made more sense for my use case 👍🏻
@@austinsellars9346how has the duramax treated you so far? How much DEF fluid does it go through? I’m about to pull the chute on the duramax at4 for the fuel economy alone but have heard mixed reviews on how much def fluid it uses under load
@@jak2828 it’s absolutely incredible. I pull a dump trailer with light loads maybe once a week. Besides that, I drive normally. I haven’t noticed it using more def under load (like I said, I do not tow very much weight at all ever) but just the efficiency and torque of this monster is amazing.
How do these AT4 hold up with city driving (3.0 vs 5.3)? My commute is a maximum of 10 miles, but is 100% city. I currently own a 2023 Tundra (8,500 mi). I love the truck, but the premature engine failures have me concerned. Dealers aren't even accepting 22/23 trades because of the issue and toyota dealerships can't sell impacted inventory until their is a fix. I bought the extended warranty because i planned to have this 15 years but not if an engine blows!
Yeah that has for sure been quite a debacle. I've also seen it impacting Tundra trade value even if it doesn't have one of those engines just because the faith in them isn't there. The 3.0 diesel is a great engine but you might be better off with the 5.3L. The 3.0 likes to have miles put on it, and it's better for the emission system for it to really get driven. The AT4 in general has an off road designed suspension that makes it very comfortable on the street.
@@xCruZChaos nah, they either swapped them or the sales guy didn’t know what he was talking about (extremely common) it was probably a carbon pro and he didn’t even know it. Call GM yourself and you’ll see.
@@FrEzNoGriZzLY Just checked the GM website, those wheels are an option WITHOUT having to get a carbon pro. Literally just built one on there. Just double checked the websites of 2 other dealerships nearby, and they have 2024 AT4s with those wheels without the carbon pro addition.

Well done, Jeff. Nice looking truck. At first I thought this color trend was odd, but it's definitely growing on me.
Thanks Allen! You gotta see it in person. I was surprised how much I like it
Great review Jeff! Looks awesome
I got the silverado in the metallic sanddune. Id consider this gray only as an alternative. Great color.
the Sand dune is another fun color as well. Really works with the body lines of the trucks
Diesel is great for towing. But will gel in cold weather

Can't go wrong either way, but the diesel guys won't stop singing the praises of that setup.
Just got it with the V8. No complaints

Correction: the 3.0 showed produces 495 Lb Ft of torque. The 6.2L produces 460.
good catch. This engine is the LZO, but I gave the torque specs of the LM2
Sounded like Seth Rogen narrated this video.
I wish this was the first time I've heard that lol
