Originally thought to be around 37,000 levels, upon further review there are over 69,000 #DGR levels in Mario Maker 2. And we plan on playing them all...

the 1st 2 DGR levels were uploaded on the 28th in their country but because of timezones it appears to be on the 27th

My brain went to the software engineer side where maybe there was an error that caused a bunch of levels to have their “created at” value erased, so they had to backfill the database with a default value of the release date for those corrupted rows.
Saving localized timestamps to a database is typically frowned upon for this exact reason.

the stages uploaded before the release date were either from players living in countries where it was already release day for that country or they are from review copies they got

You can tell the second level creator wasn't familiar with all the new features because they put spike traps after the checkpoint to take your mushroom even though checkpoints don't give you power ups unless you want them to. Also, if it _did_ you could easily get past that with it.

These levels all reek of “oh hey the game just finished downloading, I’m gonna throw some random parts into a level without much thought to it so I can be part of the day one uploads squad”

I feel like the only reason the ones are a day before release might actually be because of your timezone. It could have been released on the release day for Australian time zone.
That's exactly the reason. The eastern states of Australia are approximately 17 hours ahead of the USA, so its going to appear as if the level was uploaded before official release.

Some of them uploaded before the *US's* official release date because Europe gets Nintendo games several hours before us. They release them based on local time.

Y'know, thinking about it. Those "early" levels could have been from one of two things
Either bugtesters, or people in a timezone that put them in release date before the rest of the world. Example - Japan is 13hrs ahead of the EST timezone. (which is toronto and new york) So..
Yeah, all those creators had flags for either UK or a European country. It was day 1, just in an earlier timezone.
The whole "Bon Jovi was the Nickelback of the 80s" thing took a few seconds to fully kick in.
I wonder if someome has a level for DGR that has DGR in the level course code.

I once made DGR-lvls on SMM2. But I stopped with the nintendo internet subscription. Do these lvls still exist?

It just dawned on me that the upside down levels are not rotated upside down. They are reflected. Look at the text on the on off blocks! ON would read NO if rotated.
I'm wodnering why you didn't just use the on/off blocks to kill Boomboom instantly on the one level.
The reason those 6/27 levels are there is so there would be some creator content to play. For Endless Mario, Multiplayer, and to encourage others to make their own levels.

it's because the game came out at midnight local. you'll note those early creators are all European or British
@DGR_Dave England and Sweden are in later time zones than the US. When the game became available to play in Europe on 6/28, you were probably just finishing supper on 6/27.

At 18 minutes, you best the level fast by spin jumping off the Thwomp in order to make the jump.

I was hoping my level was played. It was uploaded 1 week after release; it has backtracking, and I thought it was a good level. Apparently it is easily cheesable as it was my first level, but I left it up nonetheless.
