How to install QGO with ONLY your Meta Quest (NEW) (you don't need any computer nor smartphone)

QGO's new installation method means you no longer need a computer or smartphone 🤘
Installation is entirely autonomous and now takes place from the headset 👍
Use any file explorer on your Meta Quest to install the .apk file. You can use Mobile VR Station from Meta Quest store ;-)
- You need to already have the .apk file downloaded and on your Quest - this video starts after that point.
- When you Pair device with pairing code, you must have both the Settings window and the QGO window open at once
- If you're not getting the USB Debugging prompt and ADB is still red, you can use "Revoke USB debugging authorizations", then re-pair to force a re-prompt

L'installation est entièrement autonome et se fait dorénavant depuis le casque 👍
Utilisez n'importe quel explorateur de fichier depuis votre Meta Quest pour installer le fichier .apk. Vous pouvez aussi utiliser Mobile VR Station depuis le store officiel ;-)
- Vous devez déjà avoir téléchargé le fichier .apk - cette vidéo commence après ce point.
- Lorsque vous appairez l'appareil avec le code d'appairage, vous devez avoir la fenêtre Settings et la fenêtre QGO ouvertes en même temps.
- Si vous n'obtenez pas l'invite de débogage USB et que ADB est toujours rouge, vous pouvez utiliser "Révoquer les autorisations de débogage USB", puis ré-appairer pour forcer une nouvelle invite.

When i click setting it just force closes the app i cant turn on the ADB
@@battlingwheel1276 what is your OS version and what is your device ? You can start settings from the action bar (lightning icon).

I get as far as 0:32 in the video, but my headset does not show the QuestGamesOptimizer download button like on the video. Instead it just says "no items." So there's nothing to click on and nothing to download.
Hello, as described under the video you must first download the .apk before install it. So you must download it from Itch

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how does one get the APK on the headset? I downloaded previously from itch, but my PC is awful and I couldn’t get it to work…
Simply download the apk from Itch from your headset by using the web browser ;-)

@@lilgiggleshittter hello, be sure the settings application with the code is opened next to QGO. You must close it until the pairing success. If this doesn't work the first time, you can restart the Quest and try again. Else you can try the other ADB connect solution with the USB method
Can't install the apk within 'Downloads' in the file manager. Just shows 'Info' and 'Delete'. What am I missing?
Do you use Mobile VR Station or XR Native File Manager ? Did you click on the arrows icon on top right of the file line like in the video ?

Bonjour , j’ai installer qgo sur mon quest 3 hier , l’application ce lance bien au début elle ne détecte pas directement abp mais au bout de 5 secondes c’est bon , en revanche , quand je suis en jeu avec le programme et que je souhaite quitter et que j’appuie sur le bouton home le chargement pour arriver au menu est super long comparé à la version usine du quest , est ce normal ou y a t’il un réglage à effectuer ?
@@ybtzbeat9895 oui suivant l'option choisie pour activer ADB à l'ouverture de QGO la connexion peut être plus ou moins rapide. L'essentiel c'est que ce soit vert.
Le retour au home qui est long est que au fait que vous avez un profil sur le home et que le profil s'applique, ce qui a pour effet de "redémarrer" le home. Donc, tout va bien et si vous souhaitez que le retour au home soit moins long, desactivez le profil du home
@@questgamesoptimizer ah d’accord et est ce que les icônes « hd » « hd+ » doivent être verte également ? Car elles ne le sont pas , il n’y a que le adb en haut à droite qui est au vert . Comment désactivez le profil svp ? Merci pour votre réponse 🙏
@@questgamesoptimizer ( même en désactivant le hd sur le home par exemple en le laissant par défaut , le retour est vraiment bcp plus long qu’avant )
@@ybtzbeat9895 Les couleurs des types de profils n'ont pas d'importance. Pour désactiver le profil, avez vous bien cliqué sur le cercle barré dans le choix des profils ? De mon côté c'est instantané
@@ybtzbeat9895 la couleur des types de profil n'ont aucune importance, elles dépendent du thème de couleur de QGO que vous avez d'appliqué. Pour désactiver le profil du HOME, avez-vous bien cliqué sur le cercle barré dans le choix des profils ? De mon côté le retour est instantané par ce biais
this doesnt work for me. The install option doesn't show is like it is hidden behind in the Configured Score Storage, and no install option pop up,

This new Adb method with the pin is awesome! It would be nice if this could also let me connect the wifi adb to my pc, but sadly no luck there, I still have to via usb first after each Quest reboot. Thanks a lot, this is the best software since hot water was invented. I have it since the beginning.

When I build a number at 2:30 when I go back to system the developer settings still don’t pop up, even after I hit the button 5-6 times why is that?
@@TopShiz you must click 7 or 8 times and be sure your headset is in developer mode (Meta organization)

The app in quest 3 does not show any file to download simply minimized
You should try the other method with sidequest on PC with USB cable (see my other installation videos) if you encounter trouble during the update process directly from QGO.
Nice, I have a question I bought the QGO v7 version a long time ago for my quest 2 and just got my quest 3, do I need to buy v10 or can I install v7 and update it? Thanks.

I'm a solo indie dev, I quit my job to work and focus on QGO, do support for all of the users again alone, answering everyone and everywhere, giving and spending my time and my life for you and all of the users to make the VR great as expected. This represent a very huge amount of time, perhaps you don't realize that, but this is not a little app. This cannot be free and it could cost $30 and it would still be worth it if you listen to users feedbacks. Anyway I sometimes do giveaway, do sale, offer t shirts and take care of my community and do my best to help you all. So yes QGO cost $11.99 but trust me it is really worth it 👍

@@바보Queen Hi, you just have to click the update button in QGO. If you get an error, it could be due to network restriction, VPN or something else and you should install it manually by sideloading the new apk

Does Bluetooth need to be on? I get to three last part and the banner is still red. Did all the developer stuff and the code. Still red
@@wigglesjunk you must keep the settings app with the code open next to QGO. Both must be open. Also you can try to restart the Quest and redo. And concerning Bluetooth mine is always off. Bluetooth doesn't matter

Yes, everyone who installs applications that aren't on the official store needs a developer account. If you use sidequest, you also need a developer account
@@questgamesoptimizer weird. I got it running on my wife's headset using version 10 but didn't make an org for her.
I do not see "Developer options" in System at 02:37 (Dev mode activated on Quest App and also hav dev mode activated by clicking build number - the prompt confirmed I was a dev.)

Despite following the prompts, click by click, I did not succeed.
SOLUTION:

Hmmm weird, did you click 7 times on Build number like I do ? This is the condition to get the developer options

Also strange: When I go to click 7 times on Build Number again it does not say "You are already a developer" but acts like it is the first time

Can two accounts on the same quest use the QGO?
Hi, yes and no. QGO is only working on Admin account, but you can use some workarounds to propagate profiles in secondary accounts. Please refer to my FAQ on my Itch page for more explanations or in QGO itself in the optimized game list screen ;)
@@questgamesoptimizer ok I followed instructions on optimized game list. I go on admin account click profile for the selected game (For example HD+), load up game on admin account. Then I switch to secondary profile and load up same game.
However, I don’t get notification when loading up the game saying the profile is enabled on secondary account. Also, is this a permanent solution or every time you restart quest you need to do this?
@@angrynooblets34 you can't get notification because the secondary account can't perform modifications, but what happened is that your admin executed this HD+ profiles as a Home profile, so when switching account, your home still have this profile. You can monitor with OVR Metrics Tool to see when a profile is set. And as for all Android devices, Android system revert back all the ADB modifications on each device restart ;)
@@questgamesoptimizer I’m not sure exactly what OVR metric tool is. So pretty much there’s no “permanent” solution to a second account always having profiles enabled ?
@@angrynooblets34 it is an overlay for monitoring performances with graphs etc. Yep for the secondary account, you must redo the manipulation you did each time you restart your quest or want to change profile
