How do you make character designs that are more hideous than the family that’s meant to be ugly? How?!?
By using the original comics.
They used the comics as a reference, but yeah doesn’t do well in 3d
I always thought that it was supposed to be the opposite end of the "freaks spectrum" where the Addams are dark and creepy, the townspeople are too colorful and trying to make a "perfect" image but just end up looking terrible. But that's just my take from it

3 generations of family has locks on their doors because my siblings have superglue for hands. I also dont let them in my closet, because thats were I keep all my books and snacks. To be fair, there was a massive fog blocking the housw from view. The Addams couldn't see the town, the town couldnt see the Addams. When the moat was drained, thw fog was lifted.
The torches on their phones was hilarious! Funniest part of the movie IMO.

I'm surprised so many people dislike the character designs. I really like them! They grew on me after awhile. That mom looks like she has a karen hair cut that multiplied onto itself hahaha. It all looks good and fun to me.
Whether the rest of the film is good or not, I don't know. But these clips genuinely make me want to watch the film. The animation seems to have energy, I love the colors, and the designs are kooky but not that bad. It reminds me of Coraline or something. I appreciate that the Addam's family aren't the only ones with crazy designs.
Over-over exaggerated designs are not always good and the animation is really bad. There's plenty of videos describing what's wrong with the movie

Honestly I don't understand all the hate towards this movie, people spent months working on this just for hate.
I don't mind the proportions of the characters since this was based off of the comic strip made in the early to mid 1900's,
the comic strip was 2D so that's why it's weird in a 3D animation. I love all the Adam Family movies and series, I love some more than others but that doesn't mean that we just get to make fun of this movie because you don't like how their arms look or how their legs are bigger than the rest of their bodies. Yes I understand that you have the opinion to not like it but please don't send hate towards it since it took quite a long time.

I think the point of the Adams family looking more normal than the actual citizens is to prove a point, which is that they’re more human than the *humans,* in a way

guys i have a theory on why the “normal” peoples designs are out of proportion, i think its to symbolize that everyone is weird/unique in their own way. or at least thats my interpretation of the designs, also i love the giant spider, it looks interesting.
