Very cool set Jeff! This set is a home run for me personally as I love Hot Wheels and toy trains. Besides trains, classic cars are my other favorite hobby. One of these days I'd like to get my hands on the Lionel Lionchief Hot Wheels set.
I remember I tried to call Jeff back in 2014 to tell him that he is legally not allowed to own more Lionel trains than me. But I kept calling the office and hung up every time I heard the automated thing.

Lionel Knuckle couplers do open up there is a tab on the left or right side and you push that down and it opens the coupler.. looked so funny seeing someone putting the cars on sliding the couplers together vs doing the normal.
This would be an awesome set for somebody who likes both trains and hot wheels! 🚂🛞🔥🏎️

100 years would be a century, this set is very good, and I have a suggestion for Lionel, because this train has hot wheels, they should make a matchbox themed set because that line is compatible with hot wheels

The Hotwheels Masters hot wheels didn't make this, Lionel Trains did, it's simply licensed by Mattel.

Its great, but you never show an overall zoomed out view of the entire set running and how small it is.
This is one of the best modern Lionel O gauge train sets I've ever seen! The orange track pieces are really unique since they're the color of modern Hot Wheels race track pieces. I also like the fact that it contains two actual Hot Wheels cars. Great job on this video!

Good idea but low sitting hot wheels cars with metal bases might short the train out. I did this many years ago with my first Lionel set
I guess you're right, but then again, they could "jump" if angled the right way, up and over the track.....

Ooh have the grade crossing so kids can hook up the Hotwheels track to the grade crossing. So they can make it part of the stunt.

It should at least come with a Hot-wheels starter track set that as loops, curves, and a ramp to jump over the train.

i have the lionel texas special 1055, would that controller work with the 1055?
No. Those remotes that Come with each set are only designed for that specific train and different sets with the exact same train like if you lost the hot wheels remote you can get another one that's for the hot wheels train. Or the universal remote. If you want one for the 1055. Get a similar control or the universal remote.
