- Transcription of Nathaniel Willifords solo on Roll 'Em by Mary Lou Williams. This was requested by a viewer, and I really enjoyed it so I went ahead and transcribed it. It's some great playing by both the soloist and the 2022 NYO Jazz band, and I hope you enjoy it!

Yooo thank you for transcribing me! This was a great time and this in an awesome transcription, thank you!!
love your nails bro
Omg I just noticed them your right! They match his pants, so nice
Hey your playing in the 23 EE was absolutly mind blowing! I enjoyed every bit of it
Hot damn, that dude KILLED IT! Love these clips with the notation, we must keep Jazz alive! Up and at 'em Jazzers!
playing those high notes looked so effortless for him didnt thin out or anything had the same strong tone as the rest of the range. Awesome job!
Can’t believe this dude is only 17 with those effortless double Gs…
@loganmorris339it's a double
@loganmorris339it just sounds like you’re being pedantic, and just because Maynard said that doesn’t mean that it’s correct. I know many pros that call it double g. Call it what you want, but there is no “correct way” to say the notes. Just matters who you ask
@loganmorris339yer an idiot. Double G is a double G above the staff. Doubles start at double G
Greatest trumpet player to ever live🤣
@loganmorris339 Nope it's a double G
I've had the privilege of playing with the second alto and the drummer years ago, both absolutely phenomal players and people.
You should definitely transcribe the Trumpet solos during Essentially Ellington 2022 on Portrait of Louis Armstrong.
Awesome solo!
Cat Anderson vibes
Fucking beautiful tone and great solo oml
😎
Oh yes!!!
Wynton seems to be èxtremely pleased with the trumpet solo, and anybody should.
well done.
Can you please transcribe trombonio bustoso issimo i really want to play it.
A Sean Jones lick at 0:56
Sean Jones did not invent that lick lol
@@clawboss2028 my bad I just heard it from Sean jones first.
@@clawboss2028 who invented it
@@critic8587 it’s in an old Ellington arrangement, can’t remember which one now, but it’s a very popular and old blues setup kind of thing usually for big band
@@clawboss2028you could argue the lick goes all the way back to the New Orleans standard Little' Liza Jane
This guy played it better than Sean Jones himself in the JLCO version
If Herschel Walker were a trumpet player. Bwa ha ha ha 😆
What an annoying solo. Just play high and the public will like it, it seems. Thanks for the transcription anyway...
enzo lescure? more like enzo insecure....
Most of this solo is not that high, it sounds like you just have ass range and you’re jealous
@@hashi8229 I am doing quite well for myself, so please criticize my judgement of the solo without insulting me.
@@DillonM-mc6yw Oh, I know, I can do what he can do, but I wouldn't do it because it is absolutely not my style and I don't feel any "heat" coming from the solo.
@@fanfoire Plus he is only 18. I am not trying to offend you in any way but you look like you’re in your late 20’s man. We’re all shedding, we’re all learning little by little. Try to have the common decency and not hate on high schoolers doing things that shouldn’t be possible in high school but since we hone and love our craft so much we’ve been blessed to do it. Think before you speak next time brother.
