I plan to have the cover of my 1st book redone, then market it. There was a huge fiasco with getting the book cover done and, while I think the book has quality, I havent done much marketing or looked into getting reviews done because I feel the cover doesnt represent the book well enough 😒
The ad tip was over my head, but one of my 2020 goals is to finish going through Dale's course and keep up on his and Book Launchers videos so I can achieve more writerly goals 😊

When everyone's talking about Amazon Ads and it's working for them, I feel better about my plan to do Amazon Ads in 2002. I briefly toyed with it for a couple of months, but can see now I was bidding way too high for my keywords. Thanks Julie and Dale! Happy 2020!

HAHAH :) Yea I was out of my element shooting this in a random room in a hotel where we were at an event together (thus all the loud noises too ugh)
Book Launchers yeah, we had to wear the stupid bracelet to get in and out of the event. And, the executive lounge (where we filmed this) had a couple people there. Camera goes on and a mob of people come in 🤷♂️🤣

Kevin Maguire yep, and now I think I figured out the issue - her mic was plugged into the headphone jack on the splitter. That’s the only thing I could guess on why her sound was off. 🤷♂️🥴

Do you guys know if Amazon KDP will let me publish in Helvetica font?
The 50 characters for each of the 7 key words ‘hint’ does not appear in writing on KDP as you fill out this section prior to checking off the book. It just says “ Use up to seven keywords or short phrases. Keep an eye on the character limit in the text field” Great tip but maybe the 50 characters doesn’t apply anymore in 2021?

I know!! The mic - in particular the mic I was wearing - wasn't very good unfortunately. :( Next time we do this together we'll try to get a quieter space to shoot in. We were at an event and just grabbed a room which was empty when we started ....

Great stuff. So, what is the least price for a book that you would use Amazon Advertising? That could run a loss when you offer freebies. Just wondering what the price threshold would be. Thanks!!
hmmmm I don't know as I haven't really tested these strategies out and I think the answer comes back to your conversion rates after someone buys your book (in other words - are you making money in other ways so a bit of a loss won't matter??)
@Dale I have a question regarding 2nd Tips. kindlepreneur's experiment. I asked this question there but didn't get proper answer. Do you really think it is practically possible to put phrases in first 3 boxes and then random keywords in other boxes WITHOUT REPEATING TITLE, SUBTITLE AND KEYWORDS WE PUT IN ALL THE BOXES. When we would put phrases it must repeat words from title or subtitle or may from other boxes. How on the earth we may generate so many RELEVANT keywords. Here is the question I asked there. Please read it for getting my view:
Hi Dave, so we should use most relevant phrases in first 3 boxes and then keywords related to our book in rest of the 4 boxes. Now my question is in those first 3 boxes there will be lot of repetition. For example my book is on "keto diet for women" so if I search amazon then I find top 3 most relevant phrases would be
keto diet for women
keto diet for women over 50
keto diet for women book
Here you can see all 3 top relevant phrases has similar 4 words that are keto diet for women. So what do you suggest then:
A: Put these 3 phrases in first 3 boxes
B: By combining all 3 phrases we get this "keto diet for women over 50 book" . By putting these keywords in box 1 we are covering every single words from all the phrases.
I personally prefer B as amazon suggests not to repeat but from your experiment you suggest to put relevant phrases in first few boxes so there must be Repetition OF MULTIPLE WORDS EVERY TIME.
My English is not good but I hope I have made my points understandable. Thanks for your amazing experiment.
Rose Williams you’ll have to split test it. I’d recommend the combined keyword phrase versus 3-4 separate boxes.

I code using HTML5. In which has metadata options. I have at least a hundred files but I don't know how to publish them. could you help or send me in the right direction for help?
Check out 'You Will Be Afraid's' Channel. Read his comment section. His comment will be first. He has the same strategy I have. He confirmed for me that this strategy can work. His channel outline is for anyone who wants to gain an audience to share their work with. What works for fiction should also work for non-fiction. I've seen other CZcamsrs do this with even non-fiction. If you browse through each of his videos, you'll see a common pattern. Share a short story (fiction) or a video on how to do anything. This is a great way to get started.

If your book is not available on Amazon you won't be able to advertise it on Amazon.
Self-publishing company can mean a lot of things. Do you mean print on demand company or do you mean a services firm to assist you?
@@BookLaunchers My first book, Maybe One Day What Do You Want To Be? is available through Amazon even tough it was not published with them.
My first book was published through a self publishing company which set me up with an ISBN number, formatted the text and pictures and copyright. They had additional services that I did not use.
I pretty much need the same services with my new book.

Yes - as mentioned with many other commenters, my mic didn't work and therefore picked up all the background instead. We were as sad as you.
What is your 'tip' for amazon pirating your books and never paying you a single cent while literally hundreds of sites go about selling your books for outlandish prices worldwide?

Do NOT publish your book until you learn how to market it first. The marketing is an EXTREMELY complex art form that many authors never master.

I know! I am sorry. We were at an event and just grabbed a room which was empty when we started .... my editor did his best to isolate our mic sounds but my mic in particular really took the day off.
