And i disconnected fuel filter and when i turn ignition key the pump is pumping about pint of gas out and stops,is that normal operation or should pump continiously.thank you for any answer.

Mine weren't clip on fuel lines and it's the weird tab one where you gotta push it in and tug at the same time? Had a hard time with that part.
I have a 1990 Eldorado, and like most Caddys if you park at the wrong angle on a hill, the gas won't feed. I added 5 gallons of gas and the car still won't start, even after jacking it up. Should I add more gas or check the fuel pump? Should the pump make some sound?
So fuel pump and float for the fuel gage reading are together not separated. ,? So yiu have to buy whole fuel pump not just a float assembly ?

Hello, I cannot get this locking clip for the electric connector that is attached to the top of the fuel pump off? The manual says to pull it straight up to remove and it's plastic and kind of bending...don't want to break it any ideas ?
yes the blue safety clips comes out pulling it straight up .. the one right under that on you pull the little tab to the side

The disk faster isn't coming off even with hammer and screwdriver. Do I need a sledgehammer because that what I want to use now.

Did you ever get yours off? I’m having the same issue. No ring tool has worked, I can’t get it off with a hammer, even a hand sledge/mallet. I even took an air hammer to it. Really don’t want to drop the tank. 😭

@@connorwallace9643 I tried everything. Soak in penetrating oil for over 3 days, and it didn’t help. Ended up having to jam a screwdriver in between the lock ring and the little metal retaining lips on the tank, and bend them up and back. Hammered them back down into place with a mallet before installing the new lock ring. That process only took a couple minutes, vs hours of trying everything else… 🤦🏻♂️
@@TEEDUBS damn that's messed up. I'm just wondering if it's fixable . Don't have money for new unit . Heard sometimes float just needs cleaning . Also don't know how much pain cause my back to get it out . Gotta crawl in trunk. Bent over . And have issues getting it apart .

yes... because there should be some pressure on the lines.. unless the pump was dead

sounds like you got an upgrded fuel pump .. if so then the wiring hardness kit should have been with the new fuel pump
Hello my gas range goes up and down like crazy until I put the car in drive then it will stop but either way the gas gauge and gas range are not right. It's a 2004 Cadillac Deville base. Any suggestions?
if it jumps like that sounds like you have a short somewhere, might be in the fuel level sensor itself or maybe on a hardness somewhere.

I have Cadillac northstar el dorado 2000, the car crank but don't starter, I have a filling that the problem is the gas pump since I don't hear no noise on the gas tank when I open the switch, I just wonder if I drop the gas tank or there is other way to get the gas pump out can u help me.
Check if you can access it from the trunk like in this video ... if you don’t see an opening then yes you will need to drop the tank

This was a Front wheel drive caddilac.
But I did a 81 Cadillac and it didn't have one. I don't think yours has one

some cars have cables the feed directly from the battery and not the "jump" port on the hood .. its always safer to go straight to the battery

could be ... but could also be a MAP sensor or MAF sensor .... you can always check the fuel pressure to make sure its correct
A car shop advised me to change the fuel pump of my Cadillac SRX 2013 but it's expensive in my country and I'm planning to buy it online.. Can you please tell me which one to get cuz I'm not really experienced in car parts.. I looked up Rockauto.com and I found two lists that got me confused. you should ask the shop who diagnosed it ... the two links you showed are different .. the metal looking one is the high pressure fuel pump witch im not sure if your car has one ... the plastic one is the more common fuel pump assembly ....

Will changing the fuel pump help fix the the gauge for the gas because mine doesn't read right I always run out of gas because it doesn't read it.
Most likely, the furl level sensor is on the fuel pump so sounds like thats the issue
You MIGHT be able to just buy the level sensor and replace it only. But in my opinion if you are there might as well replace it all

Absolutely. The reason your gauge doesn't read correctly is because the fuel sending unit is going bad. The sending unit is a component on the pump. Technically you can replace just the sending unit, but pumps usually go bad 6-12 months after the sending unit goes. Definitely replace the whole fuel pump assembly.
I have a question. My check gas cap light is on. I replaced my gas cap twice. What do you think it could be?
did you get a dealer gas cap?
it could also be an evap leak
@@FalconsGarage no I never went to the dealership and got a gas cap. I got the gas cap from AutoZone, and You're probably right;maybe it is a gas leak🤔

you need to do a "smoke or smog" test to find an evap leak .. but honestly I woudnt trust Gas caps from auto parts stores specially for Cadillac's or gm cars. and most gas caps at the dealer are around $20 anyways

I think the tank has to be removed. But remove the trunk carpet just to make sure.

just make sure its getting power before you change it

I'm having problems gettin off the fuel pump plate. I've tried the hammer and screw driver but its not turning. Any suggestions?
bigron75 they also make a “special tool” that they sell witch grabs the plate from both ends and you turn it with a ratchet. This might help. See if an auto parts store has it as a loaner.

@@BRWfilms for me taking it off was the hard part. It went back in kinda easy. I had to hit it a few times with a hammer and large screw driver.

Hi was your car hesitating and act like it didn't wanna turn over to start? Mine is doing it but idk if its my fuel pump or filter is bad my car is trying to start but act like its not getting gas !!! Any help Falcon
+Dirty Harry from what your describing I wont say its a fuel pump issue. you said it acted like it didn't want to "turn over" to me that tells me a started or charting issue (battery or alternator). If it turn over really normal but it docent turn on then I would start looking into a fuel or spark issue, but when you say it hesitates to turn over that docent sound like a fuel issue to me. does that makes sense?

+Dirty Harry yeah by what your describing I would say none fuel re;ate issue. to me a CRANK/TURN OVER is the same thing. not firing is another. but the fuel pines are really accessible from the top of the engine you can always just disconnect it and see if fuel comes out when you crank the car. just real quick so not allot of fuel spills on the engine or exhaust.
+Mr Falcon Yea the car had ran out of gas i put gas in the car and started it up it ran for like 5 mins until i started to try and give it gas thats when it start hesitating and putting and shutoff. Every since it cut off by it self after i refueled it and let it run for a while it having turn back over since like i said its doing every thing normal as far as going through the cranking sequence its just not turning over to start like its not getting any gas I'm just curious after i watched your film. How did you know your fuel pump was bad sir???

My Cadillac deville will not start cause the fuel pump will not kick in no sound from the pump at all
as long as your dont have a blown fuse for the fuel pump or relay, sounds like you have a bad Fuel pump
