Love it that you threw the whoopie slings away that would have given you all the adjustments. Also you needed to wrap the tree strap around the tree and fit the carabiner to both loops. Then fit the whoopie slings.

they have brought out a bugnet for it thankfully as i got eaten at the weekend. great bit of kit ,very comfy and doest really need a pole at the foot end.
The bits you put to one side as extensions looked like whoppie slings and would give you the adjustment needed. Nice review though.

I don't know if you still have this hammock, but if you do, I think it would be worth making a video of using the suspension system correctly. I've been using OneWind products for a couple of years now, and this is the first I've ever even heard of their bridge hammock. Neat concept
What you said about the extensions I think might be wrong.. they look like whoppie slings which can be changed for the tension

Looks ok and love the idea of less restriction around the shoulders(and a 1â bar at the foot end as you suggested sounds like a winner too)but you really should field test it a lot more before recommending it so strongly âŠtest stuff likeâŠdo their existing under quilts still fit itâŠwill the bug net work over itâŠuse the whoopie slings to get the adjustment etc
Also, do you know what the weight rating is?âŠcanât see it on their site?

Think I'll wait for the 2nd generation of their bridge hammock...like when they do a ridgeline and mosquito net like dutchware banyan

I reckon itâll be much easier to use any blanket as an underquilt, due to the rectangular shape. and the loops/tie outs would allow you to pull it up and stretch it at the same time. I might have to order it and demonstrate that myself
You won't have to do tree wrapping if you use a marlin spike hitch knot. Just replace the marlin spike with your carabiner and you are done. You can tie that biner anywhere on the tree straps and never worry abour it coming undone. Easy to do. You can find many youtube videos on it.

Gives me an Idea! I have a DD travel hammock, which can become a bivvy type thing. Reckon a pole between the chord at either end when un gathered, might make similar thing to that onewind but with bonus of built in bug net.
The bivvi waterproof one? I am curious about thst one. Do you get condensation in it? I want to try it with an xl sleeping pad and my sleeping bag

Agree with pole at bottom, I don't buy mummy sleeping bags for that reason. I like to be able to move my feet.

Hey if your looking for a true bridge hammock you can check out the ridge runner by warbonnet. Itâs an amazing hammock and I donât go back to a regular hammock. And itâs for the features you were saying you wish were in the one wind. The price is more Iâm sure but itâs worth it in my mind. Tnis is a great idea thou

Here in the states we have two different manufacturers of bridge hammocks that I can think of. Warbonnet and Dutchware. I have the Warbonnet, and love it. These are bridged at both ends.

HEY DAN - WARNING - just now watched another review on this hammock by Bolton M. he never got it set up because the whoopie slings were absolute rubbish - they would not hold at all. It was a good thing he discovered that before trying to sit test it. Bolton tried several times to make them work but had to give up even finishing the review because he was in an area where the trees were too far apart for the straps and of course, the slings were crap. So IF you take that hammock out again Mate be sure to bring something besides those whoopie slings if you need some extra length to hang. Cheers

Onewind is better because it's 11-12ft as opposed to 9ft. Get the zipper hammock.
I have both. OneWind and DD hammocks, Iâd go for the OneWind hammock as said above for the length, I have a one Tigris underquilt but have recently purchased a snugpak cocoon so a top and underquilt in one. OneWind products are twice the price of DD but not twice the quality, sure you will be happy with a full DD setup if youâre not over 6 foot tall

Can't find it on the website link you left. Keen to know how much; price and weight. I think you wrap the tree straps around then adjust length with the whoopie slings but it does seem rather excessive needing well spaced trees.

Wow Dan two videos, nice work. We use to do the pole trick in the Navy, not as long as this. Never been in a hammock sins then but might be persuaded to now. And you think it was fiddle setting this hammock, you would have had hours of fun rigging a Navy hammock
Used to be called stretchers in the navy made out a gash pieces of wood with notches cut into the ends to take the cordage (clews) the length to personal comfort but never as long as the pole shown. Stretchers could be fitted in theory to any hammock
By the way Dan the carabiner Kn equals = Kilonewtons 1Kn is equal to 224.8 lbs force a measurement of the weight it carry.
That's why all the broom handles were short. Ha ha

SLEEP DIAGONALLY in your hammock.
The best and most comfortable way to sleep in any hammock is diagonally. It flattens out the curve in your back, so you are lying flat. It allows for side sleepers. It's just soo much more comfortable and doesn't require a pole.

They have done something similar to a British military hammock , the difference is the British military hammocks have spreaders at both ends
Take the cord out of your standard hammock and feed a pole through the fold and you have the same thing but better, less chance of the corners tearing.

Not that I have tried one, but sadly for me, I think that the only comfortable hammock would be the unaffordable Amok Draumr. Having said that, a quick Google reveals cheap copies of it.
People, I donât want to be contradicting the English Woodsman, but I saw an honest review of this by a German Dennis, andâŠ
He claims itâs very uncomfortable over any amount of time. Legs are up and stretched, and pushed together by the gathered end, so he gets knee pain quickly. You donât seem to be able to use a sleeping pad which is something bridge hammocks exceed at.
Another CZcamsrs have already torn their mosquito net with the spreader bar. Itâs a very common problem with one Warbonnet bridge hammock, with similar bar ends - people have torn tarps open. Onewind needs to provide an acessory to put over these, like a plastic ball with a magnet inside to that it clicks in place over the bar ends. Or to advise people not use a mosquito net nor place their tarp too closeâŠ.
All this seems to do is prevent shoulder squeeze, which is fine if you have that problem like me, and you use a trekking mummy bag and pad, but not as comfortable as a gathered end hammock using an underquilt.
I love onewind as a company, their innovative designs and especially their five star tarps, but this product đ

You are commenting on a bridge hammock that you have just obtained without doing some homework. For example, you mention whether existing under quilts will fit the bridge hammock but you do not show if they do or not!
I would suggest that you buy the Ultimate Hang Book 2. You will get a great deal of new knowledge that will enhance your existing knowledge on the subject.
To obtain a flat lay in a hammock you have to lay in the hammock at an angle! How tall are you? Do you have the correct length of hammock for you to obtain the "flat lay?" If you haven't then you are going to imitate a banana in the hammock and get the backache you have mentioned.
Please do some thorough research before making your comments; it would make your videos interesting. However, I would then stop watching them. At present, they are a source of entertainment because of the amateur nature of the content!
