Nourishing is funny because it actually makes sense. I legitimately have one in my Constructed Dori deck and I also run 3 red memorial grounds so I can recycle it to play at least 4 times in the game. Ended up with Nourishing and Memorial Ground in my first hand last night and got to recycle it against Chane before he got to banish 2 cards and he banished Nourishing from my GY lol

It's a meme but doesn't mean that it's not annoying and VERY playable in these types of decks.

As a Kano player I tried a control Kano but it ends never worked. I love your deck list it makes me want to try it as well! I do agree 100% with you for nourishing ! Can't wait for EVE to see what good cards and suprises it brings to all heros. Thanks DMA
My version is currently just trying to hit for 5-6 Arcane on my turn, Arsenal a blue Ice card, and disrupt my opponent's turn. I also run the full 6 Winter's Bites to pull playable cards out of their hand and push the Arcane more on my turn.
I have the full winter's bite set in a different version of the deck but I figured I'd try this mid-range version first!

I think Iyslander has room to play some ice attacks like Frost Fang and Entwine Ice, it could split your opponent between inefficiently blocking damage which can strip cards from their hand and inefficiently blocking arcane damage. Presumably we will get an elemental Wizard card or two which plays to this strategy in EVR

In my version i cut ice cards and yellow wizard "attacks": i use all snapbacks and more defense reactions (sink below and fate foreseen all colors).
Each turn are similar,
My turn: Arsenal blue wizard direct damage,
Opponent turn: Pitch blue / Block with defense reaction or wizard blue +- crucible / arsenal blue wizard / snapback... (sometimes something else under Reverberate effect); I keep1 blue attack to arsenal in my turn.
I like it, unfortunately my daughter put an option on Iyslander... so she will have all the cards for her deck! I hope for another cool hero for me.
Now that looks like a kind of wizard play style I could get behind.
Much less oppressive than Kano’s playstyle!
Stir plus absorb in aether plus kraken aethervein and u can draw a lot of cards
Unfortunately absorb in aether only buffs the next card you "play" that deals arcane :/

Lyslander must love Exposed to the elements(its blue) to crush opponents nullrune equipment. Ohh i just crushed a nullrune equipment.
I had it originally but left it off because I don't have a large ice package in the deck yet. I'm guessing we get more in Everfest!

Absorb in Aether isn't played in Kano because his ability only lets you play Nonattack Actions from the top of your deck, and Absorb in Aether is a Defense Reaction. You can't even banish it to get it out of your way, if it is the top card of your deck, you can't play any cards from the top of your deck. I expect it would be played if you could play it with Kano's ability.
Correct, fundamentally it sucks to hit off the top. Even if you have it in hand though, it's still just more cost effective to lean into the combo side of things and spend the resources on Kano effect rather than the block from hand. It's never really made sense in Kano but it does feel better in Iyslander!

@@DMArmada I think it's difficult though, because you have to play the combo during the opponent's turn having to pay 3-4, and then only defend for 3 or arsenal and then pass the turn which means you need to have the buff to arsenal. I am not sure how this would work you will need to have 3 potions and draw perfectly right? Also if you have the buff in arsenal but not the combo ready you cannot flip the arsenal buff and that's a dead turn.
@@themisvoul1045 well you'll defend for 4 with the absorb in aether, paying 1. That buffs your blue arsenal card by 2. You then pay the remaining resources that you floated by pitching a blue to play Absorb in order to play what you put into arsenal. That line still allows you to block with a card from hand and set an arsenal on the following turn, or just play out another card on your turn.
I play Kano at my local shop and have been miserable due to everyone there playing 4 arcane barrier. I now am moving to this hero to play Heart of Ice and just tax them on my turn. I only play wizard due to it being a pure arcane deck but man it feels like I’m not allowed to play. Just because the hero I like to play deals only arcane, people do arcane 4 and is pushing me to insanity.

So how the tourney went?
It went well! I made some changes to the deck over the night, and the first version here still did pretty well! Overall I think I went 4-2 on the night from all of the games/rematches we ran for fun
