    The screw in battery is because it’s IP-57 or 67 waterproof (it advertises as both). The screw keeps it pressed to the waterproof seal. Thanks for the review.

      Funny, it doesn't mention that on its Amazon sales page that I bought it from.

      @@NukaVaultReadiness I’m sorry, I have the UV-21 Pro V2. The instruction manual says IP-57, but the advertisement says IP-67. I didn’t realize it wasn’t the same radio.

    Did you go straight to the Nagoya or did you test if the stock antennas were any good?

    • @NukaVaultReadiness
      @NukaVaultReadiness  Před 3 měsíci

      I usually go to the Nagoya, but I should have checked the stock antenna (good point). There are a couple of 2M repeaters that I can hit with an ok signal report, so I just upgrade immediately. 70cm repeaters I can almost NEVER hit with a stock antenna from my location (lots of dense trees).

      Hope it works for you! Seems like a solid build, even though it is plastic. Thus far, acts like a typical Baofeng model, minus now having a color screen.

      It doesn't do anything, I guess it's just for aesthetics. Only the up and down arrows are usable. Appreciate the comment!

    More Chinese subsidized stuff. Does it do chirp?

    • @NukaVaultReadiness
      @NukaVaultReadiness  Před 3 měsíci

      Sadly, I cannot get it to CHIRP. May be a firmware issue. Here is a website I found, hope this helps!

    O cant find dual watch there

    • @NukaVaultReadiness

      I think it is the menu option known as TDR (# 7 on this specific model). It is off by default, so you have to turn it on. Hope that helps!

    So you can or can’t use as police scanner

    • @NukaVaultReadiness
      @NukaVaultReadiness  Před 26 dny

      As far as my knowledge takes me, you will not be able to scan most police frequencies on an analog VHF/UHF radio.
      Most emergency services (at least in mid to large departments) are all on digital and usually secure.

      Appreciate the feedback. I have learned display screens capture best in the shack/on the workbench.
      Will keep that in mind.
