â What IS ASMR? Why are you being WEIRD? â
ASMR is a tingly relaxing phenomena that occurs when some people hear, see or feel different things! Videos tagged with 'ASMR' are created with the express purpose to try to trigger these relaxing feelings. Personal attention, whispering, clicking and various sounds & visuals commonly trigger this sensation. People watch ASMR for relaxation, escapism, entertainment, to pass the time, to sleep or to avoid being lonely. You don't need to feel weird about watching ASMR!
If you do not experience ASMR, you are definitely still welcome to watch! If you don't understand the feeling - the closest I can explain is the feeling of getting a relaxing massage from a professional massage therapist.
Below are some excerpts I have paraphrased from Wikipedia for further detail:
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.
ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control. A genre of videos which intend to stimulate ASMR has emerged, of which over 13 million are published on CZcams
(Wikipedia, 2020).

In holiday spirit I request reading about " Zombies" on Wikipedia. No clue what it says but zombie movies are my favorite horror movies so that's why I chose it. Also feels somewhat plausible.
Great idea! I am definitely interested in reading that.

There is a story of Bigfoot being captured in Area 51 but that it kept teliporting thrue the walls and they thought Bigfoot was a being from another universe which is why chubbaca might be a Wookie.
đ€ interesting. Sounds like an investigation that would make for a fun ASMR video!

I'm spamming comments at this point by accident, but I just saw your location tag lol, a powermove firstly, but also I feel like the possibility of you being anywhere near the blue mountains while talking about bigfoot is a risk - to you, to bigfoot? who could know
No honestly I love that you make more comments! I especially love that you make new comments and not replies because it allows me to respond to each one in youtube studio a little bit easier!
I actually go and visit the blue mountains every year! Its a wonderful place.
i click play, once again, with trepidation
I hope it was worth it!
lmao you cited wikipedia, how long have you been out of university to muster up the energy for that hahaha
Hahaha almost a year dear friend! Did an absolute crazy amount of referencing during uni, but now I am switching courses and I doubt that I am going to have to reference many things anymore in my new course!
