I love this video. Definitely a throw back style to when youtube was YOU-tube. What a great memory for you and your son and food turned out amazing. That LSG is a beast man.
One thing is certain...I think we all underestimate the results you can get from an iPhone this days.
For sure, brother! I thought it was gonna be much worse than it was. It actually worked fine. Maybe I should just go old school all the time lol. This video means a lot to me because this was an adventure with my son. It will always be in my heart.
Do you guys prefer LSG or Yoder? I’m thinking LSG is better it has adjustable levels of grates for the fire box
TKyron the quality and attention to detail is really unmatched.
Hey Mike, I was glued to every second of this video! I really enjoyed the no frills, play by play details on this overnight adventure! It almost felt like I was hanging out with you and your son. Video has a very real and nice touch to it. Thanks for taking us along on your backyard adventure! Good times brother!
Thank you so much, brother! I wanted it to be special and for my Son to remember it. I know he always will. It warms my heart to watch this video. I’ve watched it many times myself. I’m too sentimental sometimes lol.
Lov your site Mr Russ, hope you and family had a great Independence Day!
Loving the throwback to the old school equipment. Made the video have a bit of an OG feel to it. This cook looked unreal.
Thank you, brother! I will cherish this one forever. My Son and I will always remember it lol. I’m not doing it again for a while though. Man I looked like crap by the end of this one 😂. 💩
Ah those great overnighters. Always a blast even when they are exhausting :)
Lol I’m too old for this shhhhh... well, you know that old 80’s good cop bad cop movie line 😂.
First off, the camera footage and audio were fantastic! That phone makes a killer camera! The food turned out great as well brother. I would have loved to have been able to sit down and celebrate with everyone with a spread like that. WOW! Props to your son for hanging out with dad during that marathon cook. Cheers guys!
Thank you very much, brother 🙏. It’s a memory and video that I’ll cherish forever. Despite my being tired, it was a ton of fun.
What a great memory for you and your son! No sleep, overnight cooks are the best!
Definitely a special video for me. Thank you very much for supporting us 🙏
Loved this video this was a great cook everything looked wonderful! The part I liked most though was the family memories you created that will last a lifetime!!! 👍👍👍👍
Same! My Son will get to watch this forever and reflect back to this night. It’s a memory that will stay with both of us. Thank you very much for watching and supporting me, Dani!
Man dude thank you for this video. Everything about it was gr8,hanging with your son and neighbor, making memories, bbqing, shooting an old school video where everything don't have to be perfect and turning out some damn good looking Q...very good job sir...👍👍👍
I really appreciate that, Steve! I was hoping it would turn out at least decent. It was a fun video to make. I’ll do another like it again but probably not for a while lol.
Great video thank you for sharing. Your son will never forget the experience and memories. Keep up the great videos. Thank you again God bless.
Steve Guzman thank you very much for watching, Steve 🙏
You did a great job on this one Mike. Great bark, smoke ring, you nailed it, and the memories you made are priceless. WELL DONE.
Priceless indeed, Preston! I’ll cherish this memory and video forever. Cheers 🍻
Mike , very nice spread well put together. That brisket omg everything outstanding. That lone star a beast. Great results. Cheers 🍺
Thank you very much for watching and supporting the channel!
The outside of the smoker was glistening a little bit after you did clean up, did you use olive oil or what to get that shine?
Man what a great video. Doing this with your son will definitely be an epic memory for both of you. The food looked fantastic! What a great video - thanks for sharing this with all of us!
Thank you for watching! I hope he remembers it and looks back at the memory someday.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
It was a blast. I’ll do it again but not soon. I looked and felt like crap for a couple days after lol. This middle aged man needs his sleep.
This is what it's all about! Great job.
Love this kind of impromptu video, food looked amazing Mike thanks for sharing that journey!
Thank you very much for coming along for the ride, Robert!
Very AWESOME Mike! Man, the memories with your son is priceless. We did pretty much the same here. Brisket, Ribs, Hot dogs, beans etc. I filmed a lot but with everyone coming over, I didn't get enough for a good video... But, I did make burnt ends with our brisket and they were the hit of the gathering. Now, yours turned out great on that beautiful offset! Man, the bark, the smoke rings, those ribs!!! Makes my mouth water. And that offset is just plain beautiful... I've got a few years on you ;) and Happy Birthday when it arrives! I won't stay up all night anymore, I just get up at dark thirty, get it all set and lay back down for a couple more hours until the first look. Thank you for sharing this and I look forward to more great cooks on that Lone Star Grills offset!
Thank you very much for your support, brother! It was a fun and memory filled night. I’ll do it again but not anytime soon lol. I looked and felt like crap for a couple days after. I need my regular sleep lol.
I respect the cook. Great job. I think every Pit master should experience an all nighter. Now that you have the t shirt crank that rig up 285-300°. No need to torture yourself with no sleep for good Que. Glad to see a fan of Carolina sauce outside of the Carolinas. Don’t see it much. Thanks for the share. Stay safe and be blessed.
Thank you very much for watching and supporting us 🙏
Hey bro this was an awesome video and it was more than just about food and I really like that it's about making memories with family more importantly memories with your son and having family time you can't ask for anything better

Thank you very much for your support, Dwayne!
Good morning , Mike . I haven't seen the brisket video . I love watching brisket videos it helps me along the way. I'm. Sure your brisket video will turn out great. Will leave comment after watching it. Cheers 🍺
Thank you very much!
Yeah! I love over night briskets. So much time for activities.
Lol true!
gotta appreciate your honesty with showing you put a frozen brisket on a smoker!!!
It’s not uncommon. Can’t always cook them right away and they take forever to defrost lol. This one was dang near defrosted if I remember correctly.
This brought back to my younger days I just turned 39 lol. When I was in high school my friends would come over and we would play basketball or just chill all night. We had a grocery store close by and we would go buy meat there. This is also around 3,4, 5 am and were out there Grilling burgers, pork chops, chicken, sausage anything we could find young slim and always hungry lol. Now not so slim but still always hungry lol. Thanks and keep up the great work
Lol 😂 same here, Daniel. Thank you very much for watching and supporting us!
That’s a huge feast Mike! You got some great bark on pork, ribs and brisket, a good smoke ring and juicy! It’s fun doing long cooks but it does get exhausting. Really good video, it was fun. Have a great weekend brother!
Thank you very much for watching, brother 🙏
Great video. Father/Son time can never be replaced. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, J! This video means so much to me. It will always be in my heart.
This is why I sold my stick burner and bought a gravity fed charcoal smoker with a BBQ Guru. I sleep well now !! Thanks for the fun video.
Lol 😂. It was fun but I won’t do it again for a while lol.
Love that it was done old school and you did it with your son. Like you said, memories. All that food and it looks great! Um, so any of your neighbors selling their houses? I could provide independent taste testing. I wouldn't mow on film days either! Ha ha.
Lol 😂 I love it! Thank you very much kindly for supporting us, Robert!! Cheers 🍻
Great video. Always seems like halfway through the night you wonder to yourself "why am I doing this" then once you taste it you remind yourself this is why you do this. The spread looked amazing and the memories and story is priceless.
Lol yea I asked myself several times lol. I’ll always cherish this video and this memory though.
Dang!!! What a spread!! I ordered out July 4th. LOL That's a nice heavy duty smoker there. Reminds me of my offset smoker days getting up very earlier or staying up overnight throwing log after log in the firebox. I'm too old for that now though. LOL I like my sleep.
lol yeah I hear you loud and clear there lol. Thank you very much for your support, Brother.
Nothing like pulling a all nighter smoking food.I get the guys over beer meat and fun your food look so good made me hungry!!!!!!!!!
It was a lot of fun. We’re gonna do it again but not too soon lol.
I'm a few years older than you, I cant make it through the night anymore, Especially when its 103 degrees here in West Texas. So I do what I call a hybrid cook. Start it out on the LSGz 20x36 for a couple 3 hours then fire up the MAK 2 star pellet and switch it over to that for the remainder of the cook. that way I'm inside in the cool house and I get to sleep!! (a little less if I decide to wrap at 165 ish) depending on how cheap I am lol I may even ,once I wrap, Finish off in the oven (ok that only happen once when I ran out of pellets) friends cant tell the difference that I didn't do it all on the offset! (I'm sure BBQ savvy people like you could but hey its free food for them so why make waves! lol) fun cook Happy you got to spend the one on one time with you son!!
I know a lot of folks use the oven after the smoke is done absorbing. I may use that method someday but I wanted to do this for my son and I. I’ll always remember and cherish it.
540AM is the sun is out wtf lol.
Really enjoyed the video. Camera and audio were fine. Food looked killer!
That was an amazing video. Don’t worry about the IPhone, lighting ect.... you said it best, this is an experience you and your son will cherish forever and for me that’s what BBQ is about, family and friends. I like that lonestar by the way.
Thank you very much, Steven! We had a blast. I’ll do it again but probably not real soon lol.
Everyday BBQ & Cooking me and my son Anthony done that Friday night too. We had a blast till about 4:00am and he just said dad I’m going to bed. Still the joy and memories will last forever.
Lol same here and my son shares your sons name lol.

Looks great! Nothing better than a long cook making memories and then sharing/enjoying the food with friends and family.
It was a fun night. I’ll do it again but not anytime soon lol.
@@EverydayBBQ maybe by the time Thanksgiving rolls around you'll be ready to go again - it won't be 95F outside then!! I love smoking in the fall.
Yea man it was HOT outside and humid all night long lol 🥵
Lol, I know that feeling. There are times where I think I could just slap a brisket out directly on the patio before I go to bed and then get up the next morning to a fully humidity cooked piece of meat.
Lol 😂
great video all your meat looked great. Keep up the cool videos.
Thank you very much for your support, Robert!
Looks great mike. Awsome
What a spread of food!
Everyone ate good and we had lots of leftovers. It was a fun day 👍🏼
Another great one Mike. Keep it up
Thank you very much, Ben! 🙏

Thank you very much for your support, Leo!
Loved the video. Most important thing, making memories with your son. Great job.
Agreed 💯! I’m a sentimental guy lol. I’ve watched this video so many times myself just because I love it. It means a lot to me. Thank you very much for your support, John!
Great video and tell you the truth the video and lighting was really good with the conditions and not to disturb the neighbors with lighting! Bet you felt like crap but hey amazing end product!......Good job!
Thank you very much for watching!
I love watching a fire in the dark but I bought an insulated cabinet smoker from LSG so I can sleep all night. After 3 to 6 hours, you have all of the flavor you are going to get in the smoker. I put it in the oven to finish and go to bed.
Lol where the fun in that lol. I actually have the charcoal basket they offer as well. I may give that a try with some wood chunks and get a temperature controller for the next one. Sleep would be good lol.
Leopard Spots, what’s your take on the quality of cook from insulated cabinet versus stick? I’m torn between an LSG vertical offset or insulated cabinet. I’ve cooked 8 years on Weber Smokey Mountain though it turns out well, the bark looks thicker from a stick burner. I’m ready to up my bbq game. The insulated cabinet smoker reminds me more of the WSM but on steroids. What say you? Thanks much!
Stick burners definitely produce more bark and smoke flavor. It’s old school bbq. Really can’t beat that. There are lots of ways to make good bbq but yea in almost all cases the stick burner wins
Everyday BBQ & Cooking thanks that does help. Some reason I’m drawn to playing with the pit. Have done many all nighters though now I just cook at a higher temp, wrap, and get ‘er done. Pork seems to do just as well with a charcoal vertical smoker but I can’t get a great bark or make brisket look anything like what great bbq is like.
Great looking food! Bark looked really good on the brisket & pulled pork. Now the real question, would you stay up and do this again? Love this video. 🤘
I will definitely do it again but not anytime soon lol 😂.
Low and slow is the way to go!! Those look delicious!! Beautiful smoke rings!!
Thank you very much for watching and supporting me, Michael!
Love it. Shut up alarm you’ll wake up the neighbors. Then I got to feed them to. 😂😂😂😂😂👍🏻
Lol I did 😂. Thank you very much for supporting us, Mike 🙏
You are inspiring. My neighbor just had one of these delivered and my the ribs he smoked were delicious! I bet this was intense.
In many ways, Drebo! Thank you very much for watching and supporting us!
Great video! Impatiently waiting for my new LSG.
It’s worth the wait! Congratulations!
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite CZcams channels! Love the rig and everything looked awesome!

Video looks crisp, technology is amazing. What a feast!
Thank you very much, TN!
Good one Mike! I did a few of those all nighters on my old brinkman smoker from Walmart Back in the day! I might be too old to do that now LOL. If I remember right I had a little help from Jameson Irish Whiskey.
Lol thank you very much for your support, Shawn! It was a fun video. I’ll cherish it forever for many reasons.

Everything looks fantastic! Where was my invite? LOL Glad you had a great 4th!
Lol thank you very much your support, Fernando!!
My birthday is July 14th! Gotta love July babies!
Happy Birthday, Jeff!
recommend you take that fire box grill rack if your not using it. It will burn up on you over time if you don't.
Yessir already did 👍🏼
I thought the spritz method was more for ribs because they have a tendency to cook so fast so by keeping them moist you can prolong the cooking time and they get more smoke and slow built up bark. But I don't know that's why I'm watching you too learn, although I can't afford a 3,000+ dollar smoker! I'd be happy to buy one of the original oaklahoma Joe's that's a true 1/4 inch thick metal, but their hard to find bunch of folks got those new knock off one's since the company sold out and their junk!
Spritzing helps enhance bark on all large pieces of meat. The sugar helps with that.
Great video! What type of wood are you using? Also interested in your thoughts on best method to clean the expanded metal grates in that LSG.
I use a mixture of white oak and cherry cause that’s all I can source locally. For the grates i typically just use a brush. It works well when they’re warm.
Nice job. Toasty up there in New Hampshire, eh?
Lol northern IL but yeah hot AF 🥵 lol.
I enjoyed your video. Hopefully I will get to do that with my boys one day. Where do you get your wood?
frailinryan I have a local guy for oak and cherry. Sometimes he can get hickory too although it’s not native to the area.
Nice video and a great experience Mike. I've got a question. I'm about to pull the trigger on the same smoker as you. If you had to do it all over again, would you still buy the 36" unit, or would you go with the 40" or 48"? When I watch these Lonestar videos on youtube, sometimes the 36" unit seems like it might be a tad bit small. The price difference between each model is only a few hundred bucks, but with all the extras it does add up. Also do you ever wish you purchased the optional warming oven that sits above the firebox? I'm also considering that as it appears to have some nice additional uses. I like that you can hang meat in it allowing you to use it like a Smokey Mountain/Pit Barrel Cooker for a different taste. Looking forward to you response my friend. All the best......Cheers!
I definitely think I would’ve gone bigger now looking back. The warming oven is an awesome idea but then you loose the griddle. It’s a choice to make based on preference. Thank you very much for watching, Jim!
The experience of cooking for family and friends, and especially cooking with family, is even better than actually eating the food. I don't mind the iPhone. It's all good!
Thank you very much for your support, Tom!
