I am really glad (and impressed) with your sauna-experience. You not only did the usual "this is steamy, hot and awkward", but you actually took your time to find out how special it is with a cool bath after a hot sauna. And it gets better with every dip... The feeling you have in your whole body after having hot sauna and cool baths is very special. And can't be achieved in any other way. I think .

The slott (palace) is not under construction, but under renovation. Mainly painting actually.
Ahhh i didn’t know that, I for sure wanted to revisit Stockholm again but this time in winter I hear it’s wonderful around Xmas 🥰
@@LaurenCotter Personally, I kind of hate the cold in my othervise belowed town, but you are welcome! :) I find the light decorations and general atmosphere during jul nice though. The food too. However, when I was young and visited 'foreign' cities, say Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Tunis, Istanbul, etc., I usually opted for a week or so, if possible. Even when it was work involved, not just for pleasure. I needed to be a little "bored" from time to time, so I could relax and take long walks or strolls in non touristy areas, parks and districts, before trying out some local restaurant or café that I'd never heard about. I loved that, or we did. (Long before mobile phones ;)

Most of the statues and pieces of masonry/stucco at the Kungsträdgården Metro Station are salvaged from "The Klara tear-down" i.e. when the old quarters of central Stockholm was demolished to make room for Sergels Torg, the metro, car parks and fall-out shelters (it was the hight of the Cold War). Being part of the Blue Line Metro it has a lot of nice artworks, though I think the Red Line deserves some credit for its more "understated" look, especially Östermalmstorg with concrete 'drawings' by Siri Derkert, and Mariatorget with ceramic tiles by Karin Björquist (famous for making the Nobel Dinner porcelain)
That's so cool, I didn't know that information. Also agree the red line is beautiful! Definitely the nicest underground subway I've ever been on. So much cool art work to see & admire!! 🙌💖

What have you missed the strongest reason for going to Stockholm? Wasa museum, the largest warship that existed in the entire world in 1628, and it is not a copy but the real ship in all its glory. The cannons have been test-fired on a modern cannon firing range and it turned out that his cannons could cut right through and come out the other side on warships from that time. Then there is a round-trip boat trip that is worth traveling with and you see things that are not found in other capitals, it is called "under 7 bridges", but it should be in the middle of summer.

Thanks for video, but you have two mistakes:
1. On 3:18 is not Odenplan green line metro station, it's Odenplan commuter train station. Green line metro station is slightly upstairs of commuter train station. :)
2. T-Centralen station of blue line on 6:28 was built in 1975, not in 1957. But in 1957 was built T-Centralen stations on green and red lines and they are too upstairs of blue line station.
PS. Sorry for my bad English. :)

Planning a strip to Stockholm and this is SO useful! Can I ask Lauren - was it difficult to get from Stockholm to Sickla Sauna out in Nacka? How did you get there?
Thanks Ella!! Yeah it was super easy for us to get there, it was a 30 min walk straight through a forest. We were staying in Sodermalm. If you book an evening slot you’ll need to use your phone for a torch because there’s no lights for half the trail. I hope you’ve a fab time in Stockholm 😁🙌🏼🇸🇪
I live nearby, and if you don't want to walk you can take a bus 401 from Slussen which is centrally located close to the Old Town. Bus stop is Nackanäs. :-)

Nice visit! Were you able to swing by the sculpture park of Millesgården? :) It's a little hop North of Stockholm on an island called Lidingö, almost like a well-kept secret.

" fika " is not a real thing well it used to be but todays youth have miss used the word and think its a Swedish fenomenon infact coffe or tea with something to eat is very common all over the world, " fika" is just a made up name deriving from the Turkish word kafi that means coffe , ka fi , fi ka , " fika "
