The BEST TURKEY mouth calls that are made in the USA . I got 2 of the purple ones and they are AMAZING .I had a real hen coming out of my mouth . I will be buying some more of these turkey calls .
Right when I think I'm starting sound pretty good 3 min of Dave running calls and I'm quickly reminded I haven't even scratched the surface
Legend has it that poults watch this video when learning how to communicate.
This is true!
😂😂😂
Y’all crazy. 😂
😂
That’s a good one. 😂
Best mouthcalls made in my opinion. I don't have to go through a dozen to find repeatability.
Dave says and here's how each one sounds as he goes into a Pink Floyd concert of turkey calling. Great stuff!
😂
Got the purple ghost in the mail, took it out the next day and called in my first gobbler ever, on public. I’ve struggled with being inconsistent and I immediately felt confident with this call. Left a review but figured I’d help bring you some views on here!
Purple Ghost is my favorite. It can get nasty if needed but also do the sweetest cluck, purrs, and whines.
Thank you!
Just bought the purple and it’s by far the best call on the market. Has so much workability.
Great to hear!
Been using the blue and grey the last 2 years. Ordered the purple and looking forward to trying it out! Just opened a new blue one to use in my truck while driving to work to get myself ready!
Looked up the definition of ‘Talking Turkey’ and found a picture of Dave. WOW … he makes each call sound great!
Love all the calls and we got a bonus lesson from a proven champion on how to run them to perfection ! Great stuff Dave Thanks for sharing!
Love your ghost cuts. Easy and lite pressure running calls. That new one is money!!
Just ordered the purple ghost for this year already have the blue ghost excited to see how these differ.
Sounds killer Dave! I’m making my own these days and the 2.5 reed ghost cut is by far my favorite.
Sounds great Dave! Your the best brother. Much respect!
Dave is absolutely going to go down as the best soft caller in history.
@@R.S.G879Stage calling and hunting calling on public land are very different. He can do both with the best of them.
I bought the purple ghost a week or so ago and threw it in and tried it last night for the first time. It sounded great and was pretty impressed with myself right up until I just watched Dave run the same call lmao. Man I need to practice
True. I THOUGHT that I had gotten pretty good with the Grey cut. Now I know, I’m not good at all. 😂
I believe even hens would be impressed
Got multiples of all three & i love these calls. The lighter materials put off awesome sound!! Excellent work
I just ordered 3 like, 2 hours ago and im actually looking forward to putting some tunes to em. Ive went through so many and the ones that suit me best are the lighter ones. Basically how he described it is exactly what i think i need. And i base my calling fundamentals through watching how you do it so this is a win win
This will be my new go to video I’ll show my wife when she complains why I’m always practicing. 😂
I got the blue and grey ghost cut. I used the blue ghost cut the most. I used the blue ghost cut to get one to come in to 25 yards.
Awesome calls. Going to order the purple as soon as they come back in stock.
Fantastic brother!
Get em all, you’ll sound just like Dave 👍🏻
Theres only one thing worse than Dave hunting in your woods. Chubs hunting it also. 2 of the best Turkey hunters hands down. Great job guys.
Very nice I can't fool with that ghost cut but your reverse combo is my go to
Grey is my go to!
Done got them all ❤
You are beast on a mouth call my friend!
Thanks!
i was just ordering this haha geez
Maan, that dude sure knows he can cut up for sure, probably one of the best ever.....hope he quits them cigars so he's around for long time🤣
man, it's like you implanted a turkey's vocal cords into your throat. Unreal!
M’s husband (Parker), a lot of good turkey caller’s, I would imagine there’s some serious focus for competitors before your presentation at a competition. It’s got to be fun! Stay humble CHAMPION!
Nerve racking would be the description I’d use. 😂
Your a pretty good salesman. I will get one. Hope it sounds just like that. Lol. Bet you will sell alot of those. Just placed an order. 😁
from the sound of that soft calling, it's just not fair when Dave goes to the woods.
Best in the world right there folks
Yes he is and I never thought I'd say that about anyone but he's on another level from us mere mortals.
@@YELLOWLEAF205 😂😂 no joke
@@R.S.G879 okay hater ,who's better and you better be able to back it up somehow. I'm waiting????
@@R.S.G879 alright 🍆 head, I’d bet I’d call circles around you let alone Dave 😂
Even though I know my calling with a diaphragm sux…Now I want to buy one!
I need to order 2 of each
That’s funny I just ordered blue ghost and the gray ghost.
Which would you say is the easiest and best one for a beginner that is trying to learn
Does Dave have a video explaining how to call? The cluck gets me. I can yelp and purr but that bubble cluck evades me lol!
We need a soft calling how to video.
Me personally I can’t even make a sound on the blue for some reason 😂😂😂 I love the grey tho
I ordered 2 purple ghost cut right before you posted this. Hopefully I can get a higher front end with these calls. Been struggling for years.
The purple impresses me every time I use it. A call that light shouldn’t have that kinda body.
I did too but once you find it you'll find it in all of em! My problem was I spent so much time on the front end note that I almost use too much of it and not enough rasp. But the birds don't seem to mind so I'll take it! Good luck!
@@pinhotiproject from hearing it on the sound file I’m excited to try it out.
@@jamesgentry6864 what did you do different to find it. My front end note has a low tone sound. For some reason I can’t get it any higher? I tried a few ghost cut calls and seemed to do better, but was unable to properly cut when I needed to.
@Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project thanks for all the videos. You're the turkey man... keep it up. The calling technique is awesome. I'm getting this call. Thanks for sharing the outdoor experience with us.
When will these be back in stock?
July maybe?
Friend of mine just received some from you. He sent me a recording of him running that purple one, and it sounded excellent.
I'm very proud of that combination.
Dave you really burnt that blt taxidermys muffins 😂
🤦♂️ some people just can’t mind their own business but … I’m sure they have their positives. It just ain’t on CZcams apparently. 😂
@Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project oh I know it would make sense if you was cocky an arrogant boasting about yourself. But you don't and you still got him upset. Jealousy normal comes as anger that's all I'm saying
Also I'm buying one of these ghost cuts no matter what but what cut do you prefer for that softer calling
Ghosts have always been most folks answer for soft calling bc of the large area of clean latex without the overhanging top reed.
So if i buy these calls i can sound just like Dave! Hope this works out better than that time i bought the air jordans!
😂😂
In all seriousness, you are the man! By the way, next time you in NC get sleezy to show the call i sent to him with a mutual friend.
Show off! I have killed quite a few birds with that blue one yonder
Buddy could call a def turkey on a summer night.
These calls automatically turn you into 2018 red shirt Dave don't they? 🤣🦃🦃
I wished they turned me into 2018 red shirt Dave. LoL
@@pinhotiproject haha no kidding I still claim that as the single best run I've ever heard. It was something else brother!!
I’m guessing it wouldn’t sound like that if I bought one. 😆
Will you have these at the Convention in a couple weeks?
Yep. That’s the plan. As long as I have enough and I’m trying. 😅 booth 1721
@pinhotiproject , will you please do a vidio on how to do that low volume whistle/whine? Please!!
I just bought a couple of the purple reeds and can't figure out how to make that sound
What one is the easiest to do the softer stuff on
The softer stuff comes from the clean, second reeds usually and all those are close to the same. So soft calling comes easy for all 3. It the weight of the top reed that really changed between these.
What pants with the knee pad material do you wear?
Those are ol Tom but those aren’t knee pads. Well, I take the pads out bc they ride too low and are cumbersome. It’s just different colored material that gives it that look.
Will there be a UGA back to back natty commemorative edition call?
Go Dawgs!!!
FJB!!!
Hey Dave what do you “say” when you cut?
I'm unsure. I don't really sound anything out.
How do you make that water drop sound?
It's hard to explain, I tried on the last podcast with Cuz Strickland.
When will the purple be back in stock??!?
Soon. Getting them taped.
Dave, I would love to buy and try each of those calls, but I don't facepage or instagram. Is there another way to get these calls? Thanks.
The link in the description takes you straight to the website.
Thanks.
Will the call wallets be in soon?
They sure will.
Which call do you prefer? In other words if you had to choose only one call , which would it be ?
I'm glad I don't have to. Haha! I'm digging that purple since last year though. That being said, it's important for me (and folks that use these calls alot during a day) to have multiple calls. These calls are stretched light and with light materials, when they get soaked from hours of use- they can lose some sound and get waterlogged. You'll see me switch from one call to another throughout a morning.
@@pinhotiproject good advice thanks . I ordered a purple yesterday, can't wait to give it a try.
What does the different thicknesses help to change with the call?
How would different arrows shoot from the same bow? How would a different grain bullet shoot from the same rifle? Its the best way I can think of to explain it. It’s completely different material. Like shooting a different bullet- it’s gonna be different. I can give some general tendencies like heavier material takes more air to operate or lighter materials dont have as much “backbone” but those aren’t hard fast truths in all scenarios.
@@pinhotiproject I probably worded my question poorly haha. I think I understand what you are saying though. I guess what I meant to ask is does the lighter material help with softer calling? That seems to have been what I have experienced with your gray ghost vs blue. Also does it make the call less raspy or more?
FYI im gonna buy one no matter what😂
@@ephlax18 Totally wasn't trying to sound rude. But I was trying to relate the materials to something others may understand easier. Speaking specifically about the 3 ghosts above, side tensions are nearly the same so the lighter call should require less air but I'd just about bet you can compare the lightest to the heaviest and wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I'd say the biggest different you'll be able to to tell is the pitch/ tone of the rasp portion of the yelp and possibly the reaction of the cutting.
That new one sounds clean like a younger Jennie, perfect for the end of the season
@Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project I didn't take it as you being rude! I really could have phrased my question better. This answer is definitely what I was wondering which is how the weights change the rasp and pitch.
Do you offer any mouth calls in mini version??
Not yet.
Dang I would love a small frame in any of the colors all pretty true I bet
More rasp the heavier the latex? Bad hearing, so I'm trying to see if my ears are correct?
Not necessarily. Often it can mean less vibration/ less rasp, but that all depends on air pressure.
@pinhotiproject Thank you Dave and Thank you for replying back
Dave is it true you taught Chuck Norris how to call turkeys?
😂 the first season of Pinhoti Project is the year I won the GNCC … whatever type of gauge that is, but a gauge none the less. You can watch the old old stuff (before Pinhoti) and definitely hear a sound before I switched to a ghost yelper though. Finding that ghost cut was my game changer.
@@pinhotiproject I have been watching your videos for about a year and have learned a ton from you your calling and tactics have really improved my hunts. I think the most important thing I have learned is to take the time to slow down and appreciate each hunt, and celebrate every bird we are lucky enough to harvest.
I have a feeling mine will not sound as good
😂
How do I purchase Dave want one of each
Link is in the description of the video.
Who stocks your calls for sell, thanks
I sell them from my website for the most part. Linked in the video description.
I use the ghost cuts myself, but I will never sound that good.
Just curious are they bendable for a better fit? If bendable does that screw them up or are they solid nonbendable?
The tape is malleable without interfering. When bending the frame, which is possible, be very careful bc this alters the tension on the latex.
@@pinhotiproject I have a smaller pallet and have to slightly bend most calls to be able to use them. Have 3 of your calls on order so I'll give them a whirl and see what happens. Thanks and keep posting your awesome hunts. Helps withe the winter lull between seasons. Maybe we'll cross paths one day and swap lies about turkeys lol.
Where can I buy
Links in the description.
Is the blue ghost hard to use??
I’ve got them all and they’re all fairly easy to run - lots of practice and you’ll pick up on the subtle difference between them all.
All are light stretch and material, although the blue is the heaviest ghost cut call, it’s still a breeze to use.
Ok thank you I ordered the blue and the purple super excited!!!!
I wish you could maybe do tutorial on how to bubble cluck I cannot figure it out 😂
Have you been pumping iron?
Pumping mouse clicks and @backwoodsgrind coffee. 😂
When are you going to have some calls available on your website? Can’t wait to order some
I’d love to be able to call like Dave. Wow !
Who wouldn’t but it’s fun trying. 😂
I’ve been able to do it in 24 years, guess I’m a quick learner. 😁
Just remember fellas none of us will sound like a man who was found at birth by a flock of turkeys and raised until his adulthood 😁
@@R.S.G879 killed plenty myself but very few people can sound as good as a grand national calling champion. Granted it’s not needed in the woods but maybe u do. 👍👍
@BLT Taxidermy man he hurt your feelings didn't he? commenting on almost every comment. Let him enjoy the compliments and people think highly of him. He seems to a great guy and definitely good for the sport humble passionate and has concerns about the stability of the population. You can tell how much appreciation he has for the wild turkey. If you don't think so highly of him you don't have make 50 comments to say so to people that do
I agree. Nothing special about me. Just a guy answering questions about 3 turkey calls he uses. Minding his own business, on his own channel. 😂
Pinhoti has gotten so popular that I hear this year Turkeys will be hunting Dave just to get on Video. Nice Calls man
I don't think I'll ever be able to call like that. Jesus man!
99.99999999% of Turkey callers never will come even remotely close to sounding anything like that. In saying that I’ve seen someone that never called a turkey in his life pick up a box call and call 3 gobblers into the paved parking lot of our shop, sounded horrid. Don’t have to be a good caller, just a good woodsman to call turkey.
@@R.S.G879 - you just said, “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to call like that” then “I can hang with the best of em”
Dave Owens- the best of em…
I’ve been at it close to 30yrs myself and is usually the designated caller by others choice, in saying that, I’m nowhere near hanging with the best of em, meaning folks like Dave. Good luck this season
@@-B_G- it was mean that said he can't call. Lol which I can't. I kill turkeys but my calling is trash.
This man doesn’t speak turkey…. Turkeys speak Dave Owens
Hahaha! I wish!
12 dollars for a diaphragm call lol😂 that’s insane. By the material people you can make them for a less than half the price yourself and they sound just as good.
I'm assuming you haven't shopped around for diaphragm calls lately. I'd say $12 is a very fair price. And it takes a while to offset the cost of a $1k call press and tape cutter that's nearly the same. But my all means, if $12 seems absurd, best of luck finding a quality product elsewhere.
@@pinhotiproject first of all at 12 bucks a shot you sure do want to pay off that call press. Secondly I buy my own material and make my own calls for a fraction of 12 dollars and third I look at other call maker prices ( many of whom I know) who make damn good diaphragms and they aren’t near 12 dollars a call. Maybe you ought to cut out the cigars after the kills and save a buck lol!
@@garyjacobs7342 Or perhaps I could keep doing it my way and you keep doing it yours? Because my way works rather well for me. If you'd like to start selling diaphragm calls for "a fraction" of $12 by all means, be my guest. I promise to not spam your demonstrations with testimonials of how I could do it better for less.
@@pinhotiproject to each their own. Good hunting be safe.
Crap, they all sound better than real turkeys.
Ha! Not quite!
