This is such a great tune at the end of the disco era. Leif was really underated as a singer.
Well, as a guy I recall Leif in '79 @ school. He was HUGE. I knew 2 gals who adored him that year and talked about him a lot. He had 2 big big years.
actually i believe he lip synced most of his live performances, and wasnt a very good live singer, without the studio enhancements

Today, food is poisoned. I was watching Soul Train from the 60s and 70s, and everyone was thin and dancing together. Then I watched Soul Train from the 80s and everyone was big and muscly and nobody was dancing together. They started putting steroids in the meats in the 80s.
Food is not supposed to make you fat, nor should it cause your teeth to rot. If you look at ancient skulls, they all have their teeth, but they did not have the “luxury” of “modern” dentistry. You should not have to exercise to be thin and healthy.
They poison us, and then say it is our fault for not working out.

I really rate David Cassidy as a brilliant singer but I was 12 at the time and no, I totally disagree about the 80s being "the best in music and television."
70s, 80s, and then 90s. Everything peaked in the 80s. Once the 90s was over just went down hill. Now its just the odd thing that stands out. Back then it was mostly 90% epicness. Now it's like 5% epicness of things. I could say it's a growing old, age thing. But I know people born after 9/11 that think the 80s are amazing.
Those years were the perfect balance between liberalism and conservatism. Now, it's all liberalism. People don't know how important it is for those two to co-exist equally in society.

We are the same age, I remember him from his start here in Cali. He did a few meet and greet, signings at the shopping mall. There is a lot of haters out there who only could wish they had the opportunity . Great kid, guy....The teen idol era back then was so competitive. I never blamed him or looked down upon him. He had success and the pressures as a young kid without his father. He didn't have trust with a family member as a agent or guardian. He had to try to trust the money hungry vultures in the business at the age of 15. His book on Amazon is a great, true story. Buy it, support him, if he gave you childhood dreams and smiles in 1978.

Except he destroyed himself with drugs. He's still alive but this performance was basically the high point of his life. It was all downhill after that.

Now is all fake and hollow snc pathetic . I calm down myself in the nightime when im more stress thinking in the late 70's and 80's .... is not that everything's looked better , everything WAS better . Difficulties and bad times have existed always but what we are living now is simply disgusting .... and most of the time too wrong and twisted.

Leif Garrett seemed to be just a kid actor who wanted to be a rock star and the publicity was bigger than his actual talent as a musician.

I think he might have made a bigger impact musically / acting) had he not been in the car accident killing his friend which I believe had an irreparable impact on his life overall. He was on Family with Kristy McNichol and a few movies but as with many child stars they get too much $ too quickly and make bad choices. Where as Jared Leto managed to be successful at both...you never know.

Ну не совсем по настоящему, это не его настоящий голос, там на его голос ещё наложен голос профессионального студийного певца. И так на первых 3х альбомах. Это был популярный актер ребенок, которого продюсеры решили сделать певцом и заработать на нем миллионы. Петь сам он станет только с 1980 года, на 4м альбоме. На всех выступлениях до 80 года он пел под фанеру с чужим голосом. До 2019 года об этом мало кто знал, пока он не выпустил свою биографию где честно обо всем рассказал. Ещё он принимал тяжелые наркотики типа героина с 14 или 15 лет. В 79 году за несколько дней до 18 дня рождения был со своим другом под кайфом и попал в аварию, разбил порш матери ( тоже актриса и его сестра тоже) ему ничего, а друг навсегда остался парализованным ниже пояса. Потом были суды и ему пришлось заплатить тому другу несколько миллионов) это отчасти разрушило его очень успешную карьеру.
