Lately I've been wearing deep blues and dark reds and I'm getting the most compliments on how they really bring out my skin tone. Oh and also forgot to mention bright pinks because muted pinks make me look yellow.

This is so difficult when having olive skin. I have dark autumn and dark winter clothing in their colour palettes, and I get compliments with both colours.
Though in the summer I get dark very easily and I tend to go towards dark autumn but then when I lose the colour on my face+neck I seem to be a deep winter. Is this possible for someone with olive skin? Can you be a mix of the two depending on world seasons?

I’ve had hair colors in every shade and pulled them off really well only ones that looked awful were brassy colors, (of course) and super duper ashy blondes, (I am a natural dark brown) so I think I’m for sure right in the middle leaning deep winter I also notice I look best with mauvey, berry colors on my lips over browns or earthy warm tones. Even eyeshadows, the warm brown Smokey eyes of the 2010’s didn’t look good on me. Cool browns look great, etc. however my natural hair does have high lights that are warm and reddish. You just need to figure out if you have a neutral skin tone cause then you would be in the middle of two color seasons and both palettes would probably work for you. Neutral people can usually wear anything, and it all depends on color saturation rather than if what they’re wearing is cool or warm tone. But what you described sounded “warm” to me. I don’t think black and white truly define any color season. Most people look good in black or white, and if they don’t, it probably has to do with other factors like fitting, wrong clothes for the occasion, lack of/too much contrast with other items worn, cloudy vs bright day, etc 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi. You may be a dark autumn but since you're DA, you can also wear some colors from DW. I'm also Asian (SE Asian) and got similar results on online tests - either DA or DW.
However, fuschia looks bad on me while dark orange & mustard look good (also gold > silver). So my undertone is warm & I'm an autumn. (I'm more of warm autumn than dark autumn.)
Orange & brownish lipsticks also look better on me than pink/ mauve ones. I suggest to drape yourself. Watch Color Analysis Studio on how they do it.

      @@kitty_s23456 Hi,
Thank you for your comment to help me. ^_^ You make a valid point. After writing the comment above, I also read somewhere that the Dark Autumn and Deep Winter color palettes have some similar colors, I can indeed wear winter colors like red, burgundy, navy blue, and black well. I particularly stand out in a burgundy red or navy blue dress. (Internet says: Neutral skin tones are versatile and can wear just about any shade, lol I hope).
I am also from Southeast Asia, and online tests always categorise me as a Deep Winter which isn’t true. I am still wondering because I can't wear pink, light purple, pure white, grey or use fuchsia lipstick. Your warm undertone easily classifies you belong to Warm house, and in result is a Warm Autumn, and I'm happy for you, less confusion. My skin tone is neutral, which makes it more challenging to determine between those two seasons.
I really suit brick orange and brick red lipsticks as they make my complexion brighter and youthful, while nude lipstick appears quite duller on me (even though I used to like earthy pink before).
I plan to do a Color test at my hometown’s studio which costs around 24 USD mainly to determine my color palette, excluding hairstyles, makeup. I was considering buying color swatches, but they are quite expensive online, around $76 for only one Dark Autumn so I didnt, and most importantly, I haven't had an expert determine my color season yet.

      @kitty_s23456 Před 3 měsíci +1

@@amyaud1349 hi, you're welcome. I haven't been professionally analyzed but am pretty sure that I'm warm and am autumn (not spring) since the bright clear colors of spring kinda overwhelm me. (You see the color first then "me" later). When I wear the autumn versions of red (brick red, yellow (mustard) and orange (pumpkin or rust), you'll see "me" before the color = more harmonious. I think I knew already that I'm warm toned (prior to being interested in color analysis) because most of my clothes are warm colors.
I can also wear the dark autumn colors like burgundy, navy blue, dark grey, choco brown, but I can't wear black - it washes me out.
I know that I'm warm because my foundation is also warm - I think it's warm honey by Maybelline. I've once tried a neutral foundation & it didn't feel right - looked too pinkish on me.
Btw for hair color, if you'd like to experiment virtually, you can go to the Revlon hair dye site. You can upload your pic and try their different dyes. That's how I knew that burgundy hair doesn't suit me (it has purple tones) but chestnut or auburn look good on me.
I suggest to also watch Carol Brailey and Sarah Ryan - they have good vids re: color analysis.

I had a professional color analysis done. My hair sounds similar to yours; it definitely reddens/lightens with sun exposure, but I look better in cooler colors. I was typed as a dark winter. Basically, your skin undertone, and your skin in general, is going to be the most important in determining your color season. Your hair and eyes also play a role, but they're not as important. We're also not all going to perfectly fit neatly in a pre-made box, since the color seasons do run on a spectrum; i.e. we're not all fully cool or fully warm. Dark autumn is technically a "sister season" of dark winter, so we can borrow some autumn colors that aren't too warm.

I have been thorougly watching a lot of educational videos, and tried various colors on my self trying to be as objective a possible and i have noticed that cool muted dark colors (that look great on true/dark winters) just make me look tired and wash me out completely (my favorite unfortunately), and even though i have never been a huge fan of bright colors (and high contrast outfits) they really seem to make me look vibrant and alive.
Plus, the autunm colors look horrible on me so i think i have come to conclude that i am probably a bright winter.
Thank you very much anyway and i will continue searching until i am 100% sure

I'm assuming you're Asian (South Asian) like me, or Middle Eastern. Regardless, a POC. Seasonal Color Analysis is especially tailored for white people, I'd argue. What a winter or summer would look like on us, is going to be very different. Therefore we have to adjust.
For example, we get told constantly we're warmed toned, but warm tones make me look sweaty, tired, and patchy (esp. with makeup). Yet, cool tones make me look fresh, softened, and calmer? It's weird and I came to realize that I'm a Soft Summer, not a Soft Autumn. My eyes are very dark but brown, even though they're are Pakistanis with colored eyes that come off cool. My skin is muted and neutral-cool, low saturated. The pink in it is more obvious when I'm next to my mom who is probably a obvious Autumn. My hair is dark, sometimes it looks brown in direct light but sometimes I get a ashy vibe from it in different lightening (esp. in pics). I almost freak out and think is my hair is either shiny, or grey? When really it's reading black. Solid Gold jewelry looks soo warm on me and just seems off on me, even though I love gold, while it looks like it's in harmony with my mother. Versus white gold and silver, that melts on me and gets me compliments. White gold is my favorite. Rose gold is a hit or miss, as long as it's not peachy and mixed with a white gold. Deep down, I wish I was an Autumn bc the makeup industry adorns warm-tones, it's easier to shop for and get inspiration.
When it comes to color theory, SKIN comes first and dominants. Also, I'd argue that you have to have flexibility and have a keen eye when assessing color theory on POC, especially Asians. Asians are always type casted as warm, olive, or both! That's simply not true.

@@z-6517 you are correct, i am predominantly middle eastern mixed with ukrainian and chinese.
Even though i am considered by most people very pale i dont get burned easily so i can say that i am probably cool - neutral (also my veins are both blue and green but i dont really recomend using that to determine anything because it can really confuse someone).
I prefer not going by the descriptions when deciding your color because you can see that everything matches but then that one thing that doesnt and then what? Nothing else seems to match either.
I have come across a professional analyst channel that has really helped me.
In a nutsell, she suggest that if you have high/low saturation, you are cool/warm those are the most important to consider.
She gives a lot of examples on how to classify yourself and a variety of colors you can try.
I would rather go fot that than just boxing myself into a spesific season because after all we are all very different, and also using my common sense.

Artificial hair color doesn't affect your season. You should get draped in person.

I am a dark autumn, have very fair skin. But dark winter pallate is always my favourite colors since I saw colors (I mean since my very childhood) . And some of the colors from dark winter pallate suits me the best. Maybe bcz I have fair skin. Whatever dark autumn pallate is full of the colors I have always hated. Even though everyone says I look good on yellow based colors but I can't accept it 🥹 I just hate to see these muted colors. They has no life, no charm, no joy in their shade ( In my point of view)

It takes time to like autumn colors, esp if you don't gravitate to them naturally. I also felt the same re: my true autumn colors, since I liked the pastels of summer palette. However, after trying 1 or 2 blouses in my season (and received lots of compliments), I grew to love my palette. I suggest to try a dark autumn version of red, green or purple - you might like it. As a DA, you can also wear some DW colors.
