It's the "home" note of a song. Pieces of music mostly have a note/chord they are drawn to resolve toward. That is the key of a song.
There are also modes, too. Major and minor keys are modes, but there are others as well. For instance, you could have C Ionian (Major), Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian (Minor), and Locrian. All these scales start on C but have a different sequence of notes that they follow to get up to the next C.

Finally! Someone who uses the saying correctly. “Couldn’t care less” why do people say “could care less”, which is the opposite of what they’re trying to say and it really annoys me lol
