They will never gracefully accept the conclusions of high iq associated to east Asians without excuses such as cliches like "well Asians just studies harder and works harder" or "them and their tiger moms" or what nots. Lol. They will never admit it's simply due to high iq.

    • @LilReezy_1437
      @LilReezy_1437 Před měsícem +5

      Yes, that's because "race" is not intrinsic to mankind in the first place, but rather an identity constructed, often by socially dominant groups, to classify people based mainly on their phenotypical appearance.
      Genetically speaking, as a species, the likenesses among men is *far* greater than their conceived differences. What people refere to as "race" is just a difference in allele and genotype frequencies [which any individual has different amounts of anyway], and even those differences are fluctuate, and often disappear in the course of time by reason of geographic and/or cultural isolation. This leads us to a situation where - in terms of genetic diversity - a White person is quite likely going to be genetically closer to many Black people than many other White people. Which makes sense, if you take into concideration that our species - Homo sapiens likely derived from the same common stock; Africa. Hence why Africa has the greatest genetic diversity.
      As for IQ -- There is no consensus about how to define intelligence {see qualia}. Nor is it universally accepted that it is something that can be meaningfuly measured by a single figure. Different societies value and promote different kinds of skills, the concept of intelligence is therefore culturally variable and can not be measured by the same criteria in different societies. Consequently, it makes no sense to propose relationships between intelligence and any other variables. Especially, if you take into account the difference in intelligence between people in an ethnic group is greater than the average scores between the different ethnic groups. Meaning: The intelligence of all populations is largely the same. It's also important to concidere things like nutritional deficits, environment, cultural possibilities, biases, etc. before evaluating any of these tests. Furthermore, the creator of the IQ test himself said that it wasn't meant to measure one's set intelligents, but rather one's progress in learning so that schools could adjust according to different abilitis of their students.

    • @ThePortraitArt
      @ThePortraitArt Před měsícem +1

      Imo expectation and pressure doesn't bode well for mental health nor the format of IQ tests. Top country's education system usually result in more time spent in rigid memorization of information, not creative thinking and make un-orthodox connections (a giant part of IQ test is just pattern recognition - making fast connections that you don't see elsewhere). Study habits, same thing. You don't learn anything that directly helps IQ exams. if you look at the list Belarus and Finland is top 10 yet their education is COMPLETELY opposite. No pressure, you learn w/e u want, time is flexible...student basically have full autonomy. I honestly think this system is better. So education system in top 6 shouldn't really help since they discourage creative thinking and making connections, and focus more on memorization. Which would work great for a history test, not flexible exams. But certain part of IQ exam can be studied, but unlikely focus on since those top countries have a lot more important exams to worry about. All that being said, IQ exams is a tiny tiny part of human intelligence.

They are also disproportionately represented in academic achievement, STEM fields, SAT scores, lower crime rates, lower teen pregnancy, lower drug addictions, higher incomes, higher education levels, lower divorce rates, lower rates for STDs, lower rates of imprisonment, lower rates of single parent households, etc. These outcomes cannot be discredited as having zero correlation. No one is denying that Asians tend to do good on standardized tests, etc., what people are saying is that these statistics alone do not imply causation. There are many possible explanations as to why all these things might be the case, and it is not logical valid to just assume it is because of some innate racial difference. In fact, doing so is a logical fallacy known as "cum hoc ergo propter hoc."

      @@flyrodmikeThis article just threw a bunch a correlations at us - which again - since high heritability is simply a correlation between child and parents, it does not describe the causes of heritability which in humans can be either cuz of lifestyle genetics or environmental reasons [see missing heritability problem]. Therefore, a high heritability measure does not imply that a trait is genetic or unchangeable. In addition, environmental factors that affect all group members equally will not be measured by heritability, and the heritability of a trait may also change over time in response to changes in the distribution of genetic and environmental factors.
      As for your second point about me wanting to discredit Asian achievements -- no, that's not my point. The myth of ‘race’ has created an enormous amount of human and social damage. Not only for my people, but Asians as well. In recent years it has taken a heavy toll in human lives and caused untold suffering. It still prevents the normal development of millions of human beings and deprives civilisation of the effective co-operation of productive minds. Even today their is enough reason to assume that this article will be misconstrued to justify race based policies, prejudice, self-hate, prohibit interracial marriage, etc.. That's why I encourage people to take these things with grain of salt.
      But for the record, I'm not hating on any ethnicity. Personally, I fully support the dictum of Confucius (551-478 B.c.): ‘Men’s natures are alike; it is their habits that carry them far apart.' ✌🏿

    I went to an engineering High school. You had to take a pretty tough test to get in. Mainland Chinese would send their kids to this school. I was pretty smart. But I also liked boys (it was a boys school at first. I entered the first year of girls being let in) . So at the graduation, my dad (kidding around supposedly) asked why the kids call N-G (he said the letters he didn’t know how to pronounce it without the vowel) were so much higher than I was… I told him because I had a life outside of high school.
    Chinese people put a lot of emphasis on education. In America, Jewish people value education like Chinese . My dad was so focused on education as opposed to my friends that went to high school and that was it.
    Nowadays, this school is being prejudice towards white and Chinese people limiting our entry. ... Lowering the standards. They want to do away with the standards. What a shame. It was an amazing school.
    Americas schools have been ruined by the unions. They’re are so political. China is teaching their kids math, science, etc. America is being taught nonsense. I’m sick over this… I’m happy “School choice” is becoming a thing.

The Chinese paintings and metalworks from thousands of years ago eclipse anything else at MIA from comparative time periods. Japanese tea ceremonies derive from China. Dragonball Z and heroes like the Monkey King and Guan Yu are all Chinese “art.” How many mobile games knock off Guan Yu? Chinese art is so prolific it literally is in the fabric of every society……

      If you don’t procrastinate on studying for tests then you have a high level value system. The only way to get a high level value system is if you come to understand the value of certain things and how they connect to the world. For example one kid spends 5 hours a day studying for tests, one kid spends that time playing basketball to be a pro basketball player. The kid taking tests has more common sense and reasoning capabilities because he identifies variables and tries to understand how to maximize his success, he figures out that academia is a path to success and that basketball is heavily based on genetics and luck, he comes to those conclusion with very little information. You can only come to that conclusion if you are smart and make efficient neural connections. That’s why most people later in life say “man I wish I studied and tried harder in school” because there value system is so behind compared to the other kids. To sum it up, they are smart because they know to study for tests not because they do well on tests. If you are procrastinating on studying for school then your brain fails to reason out why it’s important, if it does reason out that it’s important then you’ll get a dopamine release further encouraging studying. And that’s all based on how much you know, how quickly you know it, and how you put it to use.

    IQ results are more related to culture than intelligence. Earlier education is all about behavior. Asian kids are more respectful and well-behaved, and most importantly have a little bit more attention span. Regardless of race or ethnicity, any students who are more curious and willing to listen (this is how they'll get the info) will make progress quickly and thus perform well in these types of structured testing. Raw IQ is actually a deficit. From my observation and experience in the US, African American and Native American kids have serious behavior problems from 1st grade ( no respect and disruptive behavior). A distinct group of white Americans is problematic, but overall they behave properly. Asian Americans generally have good behaviors.

    I went to school in both US and Korea when growing up. I believe American kids can score much higher if they were educated the "Asian" way. What i mean by that is Asian education = memorization. While understanding concepts, processes, ideas and putting those in action are highly emphasized in American education, Korean education focuses more on "knowing" more. So it is straight up memorization of answers without really understanding the process or rationale at times.
    For example, my mom (korean) is able to look at famous paintings and name the painter's names correctly about 9 out of 10 times. But when i ask her anything about the artists, she has no idea and replies "oh i dont know about all that. They just gave us names to remember". I had the same experience myself growing up in Korea. A simple example: most korean children learn 구구단 (multiplication table) like a song when we are young. When you ask a korean five year old what 9x8 is, they will surely answer you almost immediately. When you ask them to explain why they got the answer they got, you might encounter silence.
    When i moved to the US, i was so shocked by all these presentations we had to do as well as all the annoying group work. We dont really do that in Korea. Korean school would rather use all that preparation time to teach students some more facts to remember while American schools give you more than enough time to understand and utilize a concept on your own. So of course a Korean kid scores higher on an IQ test than an American one because he is exposed to more material to remember.
    American education is why Americans are not afraid to share their ideas and start so many successful businesses from their basements. I think Americans are freer in their way of innovative thinking while Koreans may be redirected to be concerned about what matters today instead of, you know, colonizing Mars or something.
    Things like Google and Amazon always start from the US first and then only later we get sites like Naver (korean search engine) or Coupang (korean marketplace app). As it was mentioned in the video, Asians are good at making what already exists better. But those things wouldn't exist in the first place if it werent for the non Top 5 countries.

    Strength in diversity should = letting the most qualified ppl do what they're best at but giving everyone an equal chance. We are not clones. We are all equal in instrinsic value but def not physically & mentally equal. There's plenty of evidence proving that yet the US has continued to try to enforce this baseless, contrarian myth for decades & will unfortunately continue to fail. Tension & unrest will persist - unless they legalize genetic engineering & cyborg implants. But the technology is still far away & there are many legal obstacles. The only natural way to change genetics is intermixing between races/ethnicities or artificial insemination. Otherwise, they need a more realistic plan to deal with inequity. There's no shame in making six figures as a plumber or electrician & if ur good enough to run your own company u could end up rich.

      @@P.90.603 In terms of products, Japan's market shares have whittled away in all areas except maybe autos. Japan had 8% share of global exports in 1993, right now it's down to less than 3% (!!). No other country has such huge decline. Re music, how often do you hear Japanese music playing on the radio outside Japan? They are a huge underperformer in pop music. And a country being known for "cute girls" is the opposite of a good thing...
