    Looks like he's no longer selling the extension, bummer. I saw it in another video and wondered who made it.

      Yeah, I didn't know that. Sorry. Maybe if he had enough interest with all the heli stuff coming on MSFS and DCS he would make more.

      @@cre8ive34 I'm just glad to see Heli sim options becoming far more prevalent. I suppose there's an argument to be made that it's going to be a growth industry given DCS.
      Be nice to make heli controls sub $1000 but of quality.
      Love the apache collective btw.

      Yeah, with he extension and the stock TM Warthog spring I've pretty much achieved a "dead stick" that stays where I leave it if I go hands off. It will fall due to the weight of the full metal warthog control on extreme angles, but it's a trade off with the quality and heavy feel I like. My plan is to eventually replace the warthog base with a Virpil CM 3 base but I can't really justify the expense when the TM is working so nicely. I've seen videos where others have taken that base and removed the cams and tailored it for rotary flight and they say it is very precise.

      There is a similar one on ebay

    Thanks for sharing! I notice your usb cable from the base plate is a little thicker. Did you replace it? Got the same base and the cable seems to be the weakest point.

      Thanks for the comment, yes I have a new puppy in the house and I've run all the usb cables in 3/8 wire loom to keep it tidy and to protect the wires a Lil bit more from being chewed on.

    Really like the set up and mainly had a question about mounting the collective to the chair. I’ve seen the update video where you got a new chair but I have a respawn chair that looks similar to what you got here. How exactly did you get that configured / mounted up?

    • @cre8ive34
      @cre8ive34  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the comment, the chair is out of a 2017 Toyota and I altered the bracket slightly to mount with carriage bolts onto a plywood box I made that also houses a butt kicker under the seat. I flipped the virpil mount upside down and screwed that on top of the box. I hope that helps. I may do a short video that shows in greater detail the seating section of my rig but I've hesitated as it is always evolving and changing. I have also mounted the virpil Collective successfully to an office chair by taking the virpil plate that mounts to the collective and attaching it to the seats wooden seat bottom with properly lengted wood screws and washers. It was very solid, the only reason I ever got rid of the office chair for my rig was because I couldn't stand the pivoting of the chair when flying and I couldn't get it tall enough to work properly with my extension stick.

      EDIT. sorry I didn't know what video you were commenting on. This is an older version of my rig where I did use a desk chair. My other comment about mounting the virpil controller to a desk chair is still relevant. The only hurdle with this setup is the arm rest on most desk chairs. As you see I had removed the left arm eventually as it was always in the way of the collective. In some chairs this is an option without destroying the chair. If you watch one of my newer videos you'll see I've ditched the desk chair for a proper car seat. Happy flying.

    wow really nice! is the joystick screwed to the floor?

      No, still very much in the planning stages. Take a look at the newer update video labeled Ah64 apache to see how I've changed the set up a Lil. Once I get it perfect I plan to mount the cyclic

    The Facebook link to the cyclic extension seems to be broken. Do you happen to know how I can get my hands on one?

    • @cre8ive34
      @cre8ive34  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah it appears as though his Facebook site is gone. Here is a link to another page I found. It does look like with the release of Ah64 that he has been swamped with orders so I'm not sure of his availability. Thanks for the comment and happy heloing. rainman-simulators.myshopify.com/ prices are in Australian dollars. I bought just the extension pole and not the limiter base.
