    I've been using VKB's T Rudder pedals for years. I'm a big fan of single axis foot pedals like this. I use it for rolling in SC and the fact that it's only a single axis keeps me from moving another axis unintentionally. I've tried pedals with a toe break function and that was too many articulation points. I would move the toe breaks accidentally and if I needed to move them while also moving the main pedal axis, it compromised the accuracy of both. So yeah, single axis pedals all the way... I really like how these can be moved to a wider stance, just like a joystick extension.

  • @outboxairbornecreativestud1779

    Great and awesome review.
    Apologies for the way I might have come off the last time.
    Frankly, your flight sim product reviews are among the best out there. Detailed and informative on so many areas, yet concise and straight to the point. Always a pleasure to watch. Two thumbs up.

    I sold my ace/interceptors and got these. For space sims these are just better. With a dual stick setup i wasn't using my toe breaks. Even mounted the motion wasn't optimal. My chair would roll back. The up and down motion makes them perfect for strife forward and back.

  • @jdoe77
    @jdoe77 Před 2 lety +3

    I got my Torq set 2 days ago and i'm very happy with it. The build quality is what you expect from Virpil - top notch.
    All metal, very robust, durable, very precise and can easily adjusted to your needs. I was very excited when Virpil released these pedals.
    I don't have a way to keep the Ace models in place so the whole unit would move when pushing on the pedals. So this type of rudder pedal is ideal for me.
    I also like the smaller footprint of the Torq. I can easily move them to the side and they won't use as much space under the desk as one of the other Ace models would.
    So it's not necessary to remove them completely and i can keep them connected under the desk until i want to use them again.

    • @johnnystlou
      @johnnystlou Před rokem +1

      jdoe your comment "i can keep them connected under the desk until i want to use them again" is an excellent point! I've been on the fence for pedals for a very long time because I wouldn't want to use them exclusively. Your comment made me realize pedals can be used at will. Do you know if yaw settings in Star Citizen can be assigned to 2 devices simultaneously? My yaw is currently assigned to right stick twist, could yaw also be assigned to pedals simultaneously?

    it's odd to me that in the review, you wouldn't immediately compare this product to the VKB T-Rudder as that would be it's direct comparison, as opposed to the ACE, or some other larger pedal set.

    • @TheBod76
      @TheBod76 Před 2 lety +2

      That would show that this rudder pedals are way too expensive. 300€ (incl VAT) for rudder pedals without toe brakes is just ridiculous (compared to the 200€ incl. VAT for the VKB), but some people just have way too much disposable income I guess.

      @@NOOBIFIER1337 I loved the video, but since this product and T-Rudder serve the exact same purpose, shouldn't that have been your main point of comparison? That is, shouldn't the video have focused on whether the TorQ ACE provides enough benefit over the T-Rudders to be worthy of the higher cost? It seems like you're too shy to simply say that it isn't worth the price when the T-Rudder does the same for less money, but we can only guess if that's your opinion from the video.
