    why do you call it pre-qualification... not pre-approval? seems strange to me.

      These terms are easily used interchangeably. For technical purposes a “pre-qualification” is simply having a full loan application in & credit pulled by a lender. The “pre-approval” is the next step when all supporting documentation has been submitted and reviewed by the lender (i.e. paystubs, tax returns, asset statements, etc).
