If i remember right there is change air flow meter and oxygen censor to adjust 20 % more and less fuel from original fuel value, so yes you can increase hp little bit but not even near to 500 hp.

if u don't throttle anymore, the pressure should have an outlet for not destroying the turbo. if u haven't one, the air goes back to the turbo -> compressor surge. the wastegate is for regulate the boost. normally it goes straight to the exhaust. here, it is an open wastegate so it goes straight to the atmosphere.
@adamgm84 You are bang on Adam. It's not compressor surge as it's equipped with the anti surge housing. Surprisingly enough it's not currently set up with a Blow off valve.
@vtecniks the T51 sounds the way it does because of the anti-surge, but sounds different from other anti-surge housings due to it's tight proximity to the inlet. So it's literally a circular whistle :]
t51r's have anti surge housing dunno which sound(s) your referring to but its probably not compressor surge hks added some secret sauce to make it sound orgasmic. best sounding turbo ever. mix of the inconel housing and anti surge design

i think he said it was a custom one. it sounds hella beef because its a 3.1 litre 2jz with cams and 4 or 5" turboback and the hks manifold helps aswell but i will definitely agree that it sounds sick as hell
im not talking about the lag, i didnt mean that by saying the engine sounds like its having a hard time to spool, it sounds like theres wayyy too much exhaust gases at the exhaust manifold/turbo exhaust housing/downpipe basically the engine is tossing out more exhaust gases than can get through at once
@kkgtyf the wastegate limits how much boost the turbo creates by letting out gas so it doesnt over spool and blow your motor, the bov lets out the boost already going thru your charge piping to your intake manifold so that when the throttle closes between shifts or just period, the boost has a place to leave instead of being built up in the piping and venting thru the turbo, which is compressor surge and very bad for the turbo
@Draxindustries1 thats the way the turbo sounds when it spools up. you can look at any other t51r supra and the sound is that same as this....P.S. IDC if this is a old post
i was replying to your comment about having trouble just bolting on a turbo. yeah it would be as powerful without any help but it defonately wouldnt damage anything. your comment to him was wrong. and you can tune a lot on a supra without changing internals. that was my point. ill let you off bout the supra love ;)

The car currently has around 500whp on a conservative tune at 1.1bar. Much more potential available but she's bulletproof right now.
