Ever-Charge is also compatible with the MyChron 4. It won't charge the 4's alkaline battery, but it will supply it with all the power it needs to run.

Do you need to keep the Mychron battery plugged in? Mine will power on with the mychron battery, but if I remove it and try to power on with the 12v chord it won't turn on.

David, it should power the MyChron with our without the MyChron battery installed. I test them on a MyChron without a battery installed
