This is so bittersweet for me, Clark and Ellen Griswold remind me so much of my own parents and my dear mother passed away earlier this year. I can't help but tear up whenever I watch this but also remember all the good memories.

I am constantly hitting the road to do a random trip, and love the random places out here in the west (Route 66 towns). No GPS either, just a good old Rand McNally! I love hearing about the alternate endings. There is a new one eventually coming, titled "Vacation." Passing of the torch, with Rusty taking over (being played by Ed Helms), but it is delayed currently. I also love the theme music ("Holiday Road and Dancin' Across the USA").

The disc is individually numbered and has a special intro by Chevy Chase Randy Quade and Matty Simmons. Now a highly prized collector's item!😉🎢🦌🎥

Well the test audiences didn't like it and it did surprise the producers.
There was also a deleted scene that took place after Clark gave those shady mechanics all his money for car repairs. Clark and his family run out of gas and push the car to a gas station. The attendant fills up the car, Clarks asks for an auto part, the attendant goes to get it and then Clark drives away very fast without paying for the gas(because he has no money to pay for it) and the attendant runs after them.

I loved this movie I wished the Griswolds had gotten a sitcom on TV. It would've had to be toned down, but it had potential. I can see it running 3 seasons easily, at least with all the original actors. Would've been cool to see Rusty and Audrey grow up. We did see it in the sequels but we missed alot.
