Behind the red carpet moments and the glittering celebrity parties, in Geneva, is a dedicated team of designers and craftsmen who make each and every jewel by hand from start to finish using the traditional skills and tools of high jewellery, all sparked by founder Fawaz Gruosi's creative genius.
Cannes 2017 sees the launch of Love on the Rocks de GRISOGONO's latest high jewellery creations. Fawaz Gruosi's love of precious stones comes to life in these voluptuous jewels that reflect his passion for perfection. And it's not just about the huge stones and the fabulous colours, each jewel is alive with movement and delightful details, and always with a touch of playfulness. Take these diamond earrings festooned with over 500 diamonds including briolettes that shimmer with every move, a 20-carat D colour heart shaped diamond ring, is like a halo of light.
But none of these jewellery pyrotechnics would be possible without the Geneva atelier's dedication to perfection. The smooth settings and cascades of diamonds are thanks to hundreds of hours of meticulous work, and minute adjustments and corrections by the master jewellers checking and testing every step of the way. Fawaz Gruosi's designs come straight from the heart and are often provocative and unexpected, de GRISOGONO loves to combine different stone cuts or daring colour combinations.
And because no detail is too small, even the tip is decorated with a gemstone as are the heads of the claws holding stones in place. Do you know, at one point in the 16th century, apparently emeralds were worthless! The Spanish imported so many into Europe from their slave mines in South America that the market was awash and the value, which had been astronomical, plummeted. I love emeralds. They are beautiful stones. It is hard for me to imagine them ever being anything but priceless! (De Beers later learnt that lesson well when the African diamond mines were discovered!)

I like the jewels on this site but this woman talks too much and babbles on so that you get very little jewellery and too much talk. I can barely watch them because of her babbling.
I try every now and then but her videos are much more about her trying to be a star instead of showing the jewels.... It's too bad really.
