    Glad I watched your video because today I was hoovering up leaves with my fly Vac 3000 that I have had for about a year. When I went to change from hoovering to blowing I could not get the vac to turn on? I spent ages trying to figure it out then went on utube and on your video at 22.47 I found the answer? it has a second safety feature in that the blowing tube has to be fitted to activate a second switch to enable the machine to work. Happy days thanks

    Thank you very much. At last, I’ve got the wretched thing to start. Much better than the manufacturer’s instructions. I still prefer the machine’s ancestor from twenty plus years ago. Much lighter and simpler operation - button forward to blow, backward to vac. Only bought the new one because I couldn’t get a replacement debris bag for the old one.

      I’m happy this helped 😀 I had an old model also that was much simpler, but I do think this is still the best corded machine in its price range.

    Thanks very much for your video! I love my new toy 😁 I use it every chance I get! I actually only want to use my high-end petrol strimmer so I can use my powervac after!

    Thanks for your video. I took out my Powervac for only the second time recently and it cut out after less than thirty seconds in vac mode. I checked the connections as per your description and they were fine. I had not dismantled it after the first use. Would be grateful for any ideas.

      Hi David, sorry just picked up your comment. I hope you had luck making it work?
      I would try five things (I appreciate you may have done these already):
      1) check for blockages in the vac/mulching disc section.
      2) check for cord and plug damage.
      3) if using an RCD try resetting it or checking directly into the mains plug socket.
      4) check none of your fuses have tripped in the fuse box at home.
      5) try refitting the attachment pressing it in firmly from behind while you tighten it.
      Let me know how you get on. Dan

      @@OriginalGardening Hello Dan. There was some dried earth obviously creating a blockage. I just gave it a good knock and out it came. Thanks so much for your response and suggestions. David

    Good video. ......I have one of these Flymo PowerVac 3000, I found that the blower was great in a large area, but if you are in a confined space, like a small yard or garden with lots of containers, the blower will actually blow your flower pots over and damage plants, I wish the vac would suck as strongly as the blower blows!

    • @OriginalGardening
      @OriginalGardening  Před 2 lety

      Good points it is very powerful on blow, I sometimes use a light lawn rake to help tease leaves up when using the vac setting.

    what other blower/vacs have you tested and compared with? iv got my eye on a few of them this FLYMO one the VONHAUS and the HYUNDAI one but not sure what one to pick

    • @OriginalGardening
      @OriginalGardening  Před rokem +1

      I did this review about 10 months ago, but the products available have not changed much.
      All the main blowers of this power and price range a similar in performance.
      You mentioned the Hyundai, most blower/vacs use a similar design to the Hyundai HYBV3000E, I did not test the Hyundai but tested 4 others with similar blower functions, they worked well but the vacuum settings were not as good as the flymo. The only better blower/vacs I found were petrol powered.
      The main reason I preferred this model over others in its price range was: the air channel is different for blower and vac settings, this means the vac works better then others corded blower/vacs.
      This separate vac set up that makes it the best (in my opinion) it also creates a downside that you need to change the configuration from blower and make sure it is locked in place correctly.
      I think the flymo is the only model that has this separate vac configuration, if that helps with comparison?

      @@worksavetravelrepeat6072 no I got the flymo 3000 from homebase on deal for £47. The blower works really well quite powerful to be honest and the vacuum is pretty decent aswell got clogged up a couple of times but just turn it off shake it all out and turn back on and your good to go. overall i was really impressed with it the only thing that disappointed me was i read somewhere it had a metal fan blade thing but it has a plastic one. mabye I was given the wrong information but I'm not worried it seems strong enough. hope you enjoy your leaf blowing 👍😂

    Is it very noisy?

    • @OriginalGardening
      @OriginalGardening  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say more so when using the vac then the blower setting. To compare to something similar, it is maybe a bit loader than an electric mower, but not as load as a petrol mower. I would advise hearing protection, but you shouldn’t get complaints from the neighbours.
