This is a very unique and creative metal band from Sweden. They range from death metal to new metal to retro metal and everything in between. They like to incorporate melody and vocal harmonies into much of their stuff. They take the music very seriously but have fun with it and don't take themselves too seriously. They are not the pretentious "we are a scary death metal band" type. Singer has a great vocal range and can go from growl or scream to clean at the drop of a hat even live. By the way they absolutely kill live! That's why they have devout fans in Europe and slowly now creeping into the US. Every song is different throughout their 8 soon to be 9 album catalog. Every song and album is different so you definitely can't judge by just one song. The newest one "The Dirt I'm Buried In" is by far the most "pop metal" song by them ever. "Hail the Apocalypse" is the most watched video and may be a good launching point from here. "Bloody Angel" is another great starter song. It's a bit mellower and definitely has a "Schindler's List" inspiration behind it. But don't stop at just one or two songs before you judge.

Yeah, funny how that happens :) It's one reason I tell people to take my reactions with a grain of salt because I may feel completely different about a song later. Everything on here is based off first time listens. :)
Great song to start with, they have some amazing variety in sound

I adore this song! Riffs so playful and malicious in same time.))) In the end was snippet of the new song.) Also Torn Apart and Vultures Fly are stompy.
The demon was locked up under the guard of a girl. (She also was in crowd in A Statue of the King, very funny video.) Someone managed to hand him a scalpel (prison thing with bread), and the ritual on call began. Two different groups of cultists, different parts of the ritual. Car is the reference to John Carpenter.)) Main dancer in red also was in A Secret Door and Going Hunting videos.))) I like how they won't forget people.)) Well, there wasn't much dismemberment and Johannes wasn't really hurt.)) The organs were taken out and thrown away because they interfere with flexibility. The guys are very smart.)) And bloody Johannes probably is reference to their song Paint Me Red.))
