- We attended a very special invitation at Finca Las Arenillas, in Villanueva del Río y Minas - Sevilla. This is the release of a pair of lynxes: Secreto and Sirena.
This European initiative aims to connect the lynx population between the territories of the eastern Sierra Morena, Doñana and the Matachel Valley (Extremadura).
This is the LIFE Lynxconnect project "Creation of a genetically and demographically functional Iberian lynx metapopulation" coordinated by the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development.
Another positive aspect of this is to balance the fox population in the environment, which is wreaking havoc accelerating the extinction of rabbits in this territory.
We are very grateful to be able to witness this moment as there are not many opportunities to see lynx at such close range, even if it is only for a short period of time.

Es difícil pero poco a poco se ha ido adaptando. La hembra que sale en el vídeo apareció muerta en una vía de tren, supuestamente atropellada, pero todo apunta a un acto intencionado. Se ha reintroducido otra hembra más y parece que de momento ha hecho buenas migas con el macho. Se les ve co frecuencia por la finca. A la espera de que tengan descendencia 🤞 Gracias por el comentario!

Que maravilla, me encanta la fauna,soy aficionado al fototrampeo y me consta que por sierra norte ya había linces ,llegaron desde Badajoz e incluso de hornachuelos,esta introducción viene de maravilla para potenciar la población, un saludo.

Hola Víctor, pues realmente no, en este caso nos enteramos porque se llevó a cabo en la finca de un amigo nuestro y nos dio la oportunidad de asistir. Son actos algo más cerrados organizados por distintas autoridades y algo de medios de comunicación. Gracias por el comentario. Saludos!
