    Biggest killer for the F56 JCW is brake temps and lack of Camber up front. Hopefully you've solved the brake ossie with braided lines and fluid. Bit ideally need Camber top mounts up front.
    Keep and eye on the discs and pads. Yellow stuff don't like much track work and I've warped a set of ebc discs on a previous car

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yellow stuff on the rear and blue stuff on the front on our JCW, should work quite well with the other braking upgrades. Top mounts is one on the list but it does then start to change the car to being more track focussed as will compromise it on the road (poor in wet conditions and increased tyre wear etc). This series is about adapting and changing things gradually so no doubt there will be some other braking and suspension upgrades inbound 😀

      Tracking any car you need to make improvements. The JWC for the road is fine as long look after it.

      Yup ive just done my cooper s to 270 bhp and the brakes cannot handle it anymore they just fade after a few minutes

      The sound and power upgrades will be fairly unique and not many have used these specific parts, will make for interesting watching!
      Good fluid for temperature control, upgraded lines for pedal feel and a stronger pad and disc combo help out dramatically.

    Nice. Enjoying this series. I’d be interested to hear what it drives like on public roads with all those poly bushes. Are reasonable levels of comfort still there?
    My personal opinions so far is, you need the digital dash. My 2021 JCW LCi2 has this and it was a must for me as it looks way better. Secondly I’d get rid of the OZ wheels. I think they look crap. Some factory 18’s finished in all black look way fatter and in keeping with the car. That’s purely my opinion but is irrelevant in me enjoying what you’re doing and documenting here. Keep up the good work lads. Looking forward to the next video.

      Appreciate the comment, glad you like the series so far.
      We will do a run down in the coming month or so with where we are and it’s usability on the road as it stands. Track day to check lap time difference won’t likely be for another couple months with weather being difficult to predict right now.
      Digital dash is one on the list to do but not at the top currently. Personally we like the wheels (wheels are a very personal thing), they suit the style of build this is. 17” wheels would ride better however…

    i have the WL rear sway bar in my f56 JCW and they squeak like crazy in the summer and now that its getting a little cold, they clunk over every bump :/ i'm probably going to go back to the stock bar

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Před 6 měsíci +1

      With upgrading the rear bar, tolerances are reduced and it’s very tight to the rear frame. Spacing out of modifying the bushing collars should sort any clonks. They can be a bit squeaky at low speed, some good lube and regular application can also help out.

    • @gordonwong7192
      @gordonwong7192 Před 6 měsíci

      @@Carbonwurks i actually initially had it installed upside down so it was making contact with the subframe but after reinstalling it started squeaking which some lube would help for a little while and i will need to relube it (i didnt get the regreasable bushing mounts, i just sprayed around it with the lube). also the clunking in the cold im not exactly sure where it is coming from. might be the end links which I upgraded to the NM ones.

      @@gordonwong7192I had the same issue on my Mini Cooper electric after replacing the rear sway bar and I thought the bar was making the clunky noise, but it turned out the noise came from the thin gauge upper and lower control bars. I replaced them both one from SPC performance and the other from Megan Racing and doing got rid of the clunky noise!

    How are the power flex bushings? Did they add any noticeable NVH?

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Před 4 měsíci

      Bushes are good. For sure did add some NVH but it’s relative and certainly livable.

    • @joshua1chan

      @@Carbonwurks Which ones would you say are worth it for a street/track car? Did you install the camber and caster ones for the front control arms as well? Thanks in advance

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Před 4 měsíci

      It comes down to personal preference really. We are happy with black series as a road based car with the engine/gearbox being the road going purple/yellow version (depending on where it’s going). Didn’t go for the adjustable camber/caster versions as later down the line for us wouldn’t be needed and they are more complicated to setup.
      We will be doing a review video next month of how things are going and talking a bit more about some of these modification in more detail from road biased usage.

    • @Carbonwurks
      @Carbonwurks  Před 3 dny

      For this car we have kept the standard mapping. We wanted to showcase the handling upgrades. Other option is to go back to an earlier ECU which would negate the whole issue.
