According to David R Hawkins teaching, you need to let go of that attachment toward romance and your resentment against the supposed superficiality of the world. Your desperate jaded attitude itself is repulsive toward any potential partners. No one wants to be around someone with such negative energy. Read David's book Letting Go, it helped me immensely, especially with my past codependence and craving for a relationship. Through the book, I've learned to let go and give myself everything I would need from a partner such as love and kindness and compassion. I finally feel complete on my own. I'm also a 26 years virgin and used to struggle with your same insecurities, but now I feel a ton better. I've learned that my self-worth doesn't come from my appearance or career or anything external, but from the essence of who I am and I refuse to walk on shame in how God made me and I refuse to believe the lies of the world that teaches us that materialism and attractiveness is key to worth and happiness, if that's the case why many actors and musicians and business people commit suicide in spite of having it all? There's a lot more to life than money and beauty, and I have found that caring for inner self and slowing down and seeking wisdom and filling my heart with love and faith and forgiveness has brought me joy beyond any potential partner can give me.
