I am glad that you did not get out in El Centro. Locals experience a lot of crime there, so you know that foreigners are at risk. I enjoyed your video. I live in Medellin and your recommendations and comments were spot on.
I love Medellin and I have no plans to leave. I have traveled to about 40 countries but I decided to make Medellin my 2nd home.
Thanks for watching! Medellin is a wonderful place but people have to be careful anywhere they go and not being arrogant and actually listening to the locals is a big part of staying safe.
Great video..yeah, El Centro is cool during the day but I personally wouldn't be around there at night. I was in town right before the lockdown and a bunch of us were there for a meetup. a few of us also rode on the cable car up to the Santo Domingo neighborhood and I hung out in Laureles my last night after the crew departed back to the states. I rely a lot on my instincts and when something doesn't feel right, I listen. I don't get intoxicated ever when I'm in public, especially when I am by myself I hope to return to Medellin at some point but hard to say when.

Been Thailand 🇹🇭 4 times always felt safe , there look after tourist there , but South American looks a different level
Thing about these countries in Latin America, is politics can change things VERY fast. Places that were great 2-3 years ago can be terrible now. For example Venezuela was the perfect retirement spot in the 90s and look at it now. Good looking out by the uber driver, hope you got his number to use him in the future.
never go to centro to party as a foreigner or even as a local,only go to shopping or know places on the light day , i tell you, im made in medellin.

Yea man, it's not really a good first time overseas situation for people that haven't traveled or know how to watch out for sketchy situations but it is fun.

Be sure to just watch your drinks, don't get too drunk alone, be careful meeting girls on tinder/social media (tell them to send you a picture of their ID first), don't walk home at night and don't wear things like jewelry that will attract unwanted attention. Those are the basic things.
What up Trini??!! Man, I'll be back May 12-15, bro. Yeah, El Centro is better to go during the DAYLIGHT. Even my girlfriend won't go there at night. I've been getting Airbnbs in the Envigado part of town and I love that place since visiting it in November of 2022.
I don't know I you've been, but hit up Guatape. Besides climbing up that tall ass mountain, I like the feel of the small town. There are other small towns around as well. I went to Sabaneta the last time I was there in March.

That's the same thing I try to tell people about Thailand. The vibe is like no other. I haven't been to the Phillippines yet but I'll check it out next year when I go back to Asia.

What he talks about the perception of danger by the guys there is very true. and it is something that is scattered everywhere in the streets, in the subway, super markets, etc., etc. There are people who are very ingenious and lack experience in these issues who do not know how to see it. I am a witness that I saw it true. I see this with my own eyes. I am from Chile and here you do not see that even close

@@Rattyboy Yes, brother, it's good. The city is big here. There are very funny places and places to party at night spread all over the city. The center of Santiago is somewhat dangerous, especially at night, but it is nowhere near the level of Medellín, far from it. But it is not a good idea to walk through those sectors, but the Providencia or Ñuñoa neighborhoods are perfect for renting. The Bellavista neighborhood is like the biggest party place, but it can be quite dangerous at times. There are much better and safer places in the more affluent neighborhoods to go out at night. The problem is that everything here is more expensive than in the rest of South America, rents, etc.
@@Rattyboy Viña del Mar beach is also a very good option. Good spots to party and that place is beautiful. especially in January and February you will love that it is summer here many women, parties, bars, restaurants etc etc..

Japan is more expensive than Colombia but you deadass can find a spot in Tokyo or Osaka for $600-$800 a month. It’s gonna be small af but yen is down rn . Japan isn’t THAT much expensive

I just saved and didn't spend my money on bull. I had a college degree so I was able to land a choice of teaching English there (that don't make much but it can get you over there) or getting a government job or join military. There are contracting jobs as well. You just gotta search for apply online. Then you get a work visa.

Well I think it wasnt intentional because he hasn't been there in a long time and the area was actually lively and nice back then. My normal cab driver here said it was before... but it changed when mayor switched.

Colombia is cool but as a foreigner I wouldn’t recommend visiting strip clubs or shit like that in the streets unless u know how to move I think the best things to visit is the regular touristic type shit like Palomino, Santa Marta, small towns or something like that, u can enjoy meet some fine chicks and you don’t have to worry about getting robbed

Was up bro. I flew in to Medellin from Los Angeles. When I got to the airport at LAX they ask me for the negative Covid test and the check mig but when I got in to Medellin they didn’t ask me for anything
Bro, Centro isn't that bad, stop letting people fool you. A lot of tourist stay at hotel Nutibara in El Centro and walk to the 4 strip clubs which are 2 mins walking distance from it at night with no problems. You can't walk everywhere in El Centro at night but in that little block you can.
If you are a tourist, what's the kind of thing that would happen in the blocks you can't walk in? Is that where you get the good Flake?
